Not only is the new year right around the corner, Valentine’s Day is not that far away either.  So, whether you love champagne to bring in the new year or prefer having a glass with your loved one during a romantic candle lit dinner, you are sure to love this cold process soap recipe.  This soap cupcake uses a swirled soap frosting that is topped with a pear melt and pour embed.  And as awesome as that is, what’s even better, it’s scented with Natures Garden’s Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil.  After creating the Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe, this champagne scent happens to be by new favorite fragrance oil.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil

Our Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe uses, what else, champagne pear scent.  So, are you wondering how this scented oil smells?  Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil by Natures Garden is an effervescent blend of citrus and melon notes that are accented with crisp greens to create a champagne accent for this fruity scent. Orchard pear and fresh apple balance at the heart of the fragrance, while a hint of apple blossom creates texture for the fruity accord. Luxurious musk undertones soften the blend.  An NG Original Fragrance!

In addition, if this leaves you craving the real thing, why not try a champagne pear cocktail.  This cocktail blends both the champagne and pear in an actual drink.  So, while you can’t drink the actual fragrance oil, here is a champagne pear recipe that you can drink.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare Your Pear Embeds

We will begin by preparing pear embeds.  These embeds will be created with melt and pour soap base.  We will need to make a total of eight pear embeds.  You will notice the mold that we are using only has two pear cavities.  You will need to repeat this process, remelting your mp soap base.  Just use caution so you do not get the soap too hot.  These embeds will be placed on top of our swirled cp soap frosting at the end.  So, once you have created all 8 embeds you can set them aside until after you have frosted your soap cupcakes.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare the Leaves of the Pears

First, we will prepare the leave of the pears.  Now, you will only need to fill a very small part of the cavity.  So, you will only need a very small amount of green soap.  Melt 20 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Once you have melted your soap, add 1 gram of Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil.  Then, add 2 drops Kelly Green FUN Soap Colorant and 1 drop Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix the ingredients into the soap base.  Finally, use a disposable pipette to place green soap into the leaf portion of each of the two pear cavities.  Then, spray the area with rubbing alcohol and allow the soap to setup.

Now, we will prepare the yellow portions of the pears.  So, first, weigh out 150 grams of your Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Next, add 2 drops Yelp Yellow FUN Soap Colorant and 2 drops Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, add 7 grams Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil and stir to fully disperse all of the ingredients.  Spray the green soap with rubbing alcohol before pouring the yellow soap into the pear cavities of your mold.  You will need to fill the mold completely and will have some overlap with the green soap.  Once you have poured the soap, spray it once again with rubbing alcohol.  After they have setup, remove them from the molds.  You will need to create a total of eight pear soaps.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare the Cold Process Soap

Next, we will be preparing our cold process soap portion of the champagne pear cp soap cupcakes.  The cupcakes will have a solid green base.  The cupcakes will be topped with a swirled frosting.  Once the frosting is added, one of your pear embeds will be placed on top.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare the Lye Solution

First, you need to prepare your lye solution.  In a bowl, add 517 grams of distilled water.  Then, weigh out and slowly add 196 grams of your lye.  You want to mix until the lye is completely dissolved.  Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide, should always be added to your water.  Never add your water to your lye.   Finally, allow your lye solution’s temperature to drop.  You want it to drop to room temperature before you begin creating your soap.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare Your Oils

Next, prepare your oils.  The oils will later be mixed with the lye solution to create your soap.  First, though, we will need to weigh out and melt the oils.  Once they are melted, we will also allow the temperature of the oils to drop to room temperature.  So, once you have weighed out your oils, use a double boiler to melt 272 grams Sunflower Oil, 272 grams Mango Butter, 244 grams Fractionated Coconut Oil, 136 grams Apricot Kernel Oil, 136 grams Shea Butter, 27 grams Lanolin Oil USP Liquid, 136 grams Macadamia Nut Oil, and 136 Sweet Almond Oil.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare Your Colorants and Fragrance Oil

While you are waiting for your oils and lye solution to cool, you will want to prepare your colorants and fragrance oil.  First, this cold process soap recipe will use 91 grams of Natures Garden’s Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil.  So, go ahead add 91 grams of the fragrance oil to a small bowl.  Then, set it aside, we will come back to it.

Next, let’s prepare the colorants.  You will need a total of five small bowls.  When we begin soaping, we will use five colors in our swirl and one of these colors for the base of the cupcakes.  So, prepare the colorants as listed below, using one small bowl for each one.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe: Creating Your Cold Process Soap

Before we begin mixing everything together.  You will need 4 bowls that are large enough and deep enough to mix and hold 215 grams of soap batter.   You will also need both your fragrance oil and soap colorants out in front of you.

Now, with both your oils and lye solution at room temperature, add the lye solution to the oils.  Then, use a stick blender to emulsify them.  Next, add the Natures Garden Champagne Pear Fragrance Oil.  Again, stick blend to mix the ingredients together.  Finally, separate your batter.  To each of your four bowls, add 215 grams of soap batter along with one of the colorants you prepared as listed below.  When you have added the soap batter to each of these bowls, stick blend to incorporate the colorants, starting with your lightest colorant.  Once you have prepared the four bowls listed below, you will notice that you have one colorant left, this is the one will be used in the next step.

Bowl 1:  5 grams Lime Green FUN Soap Colorant

Bowl 2:  5 grams Yelp Yellow FUN Soap Colorant
5 grams Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant

Bowl 3:  2 grams 24K Gold Mica Pigment (mixed with a little bit of your oils)

Bowl 4:  20 grams Titanium Dioxide Oil Dispersible  (mixed with a little bit of your oils)

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare the Cupcake Bases

Next, you will be coloring the larger portion of soap that is left in your mixing bowl.  So, add the 10 grams of lime green FUN Soap Colorant that you have remaining to this bowl.  Then, use a stick blender to blend the colorant.  Now, with your soap at trace, pour the dark green soap into eight cavities of the silicone muffin mold.  You will notice that you have some remaining dark green soap.  This will be used for the swirled soap frosting in the next step.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare the Swirled Soap Frosting

So, next, we will create the soap frosting.  In the bowl containing the dark green soap batter, add the contents of the four smaller bowls you prepared earlier.  Then, use a rubber spatula or skewer to swirl the soap.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe:  Prepare Frosting the Soap Cupcakes

Now, you want to allow the soap batter to thicken to a very thick frosting like consistency.  If your batter is not thick enough, the top of your cupcake will end up looking like melting ice cream on top of your base.  So, at the proper consistency, scoop the soap frosting onto the top of each cupcake base.

Once each cupcake base has been frosted, we will add an embed to each cupcake.  So, you will need the pear embed you prepared earlier.  Then, add a pear embed to the top of each cupcake and press it securely into the frosting.

Champagne Pear CP Soap Cupcakes Recipe: Using the Soap Cupcakes

Allow your soap cupcakes to stay in the molds for 24 to 48 hours.  Then, remove your champagne pear cp soap cupcakes from the molds.  Since it is CP soap, you will need to allow them to cure.  However, once they cure, they are ready to use.

We hope that you enjoy creating this cold process soap recipe.  We definitely enjoyed making it!  What is your favorite champagne scent?  What have you created with it?  Let us know what you have made with other Natures Garden fragrance oils.  We love seeing your projects and how much fun you are having getting your craft on!  Show us your pictures on our Facebook page.  You can also tag us on Instagram or Twitter @ngscents!
