So, let’s get into some of the amazing benefits that people can have from this wonderful cosmetic herb.

Green Tea Benefits: Growing ConditionsGreen Tea Benefits: Growing Conditions

Although green tea plants will grow best in areas that are considered zone 7, you can grow this plant in colder areas, too. All you have to do is put your tea plant in a pot and bring it in during the winter. This plant can survive down to about 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, you can transfer your plant to larger pots as it grows. You will know when it is time if you see that the roots begin to push out of the drain holes in the bottom. Your green tea plant will prefer soil that drains well, like a light sandy or medium loamy soil. Further, these plants like soil that is acidic that has a pH between 4.5 and 6. Also, your plant will prefer to be in either full or partial shade.

Once your plant is thriving, you can start thinking about harvesting your tea leaves. You will want to use the young tender tea leaves. So, pick a new shoot with only a few leaves on it. For best results, you may want a new shoot with about two or three leaves on it. Typically, you will be able to harvest your tea leaves in the summer. Later, the plant will bloom to produce pretty flowers, this will happen between September and November. While these blooms are quite pretty, they aren’t all that great for making green tea. So, you may want to store some for after green tea season.

Green Tea Benefits: Industrial Uses

There are many benefits that you can have from bringing green tea into your life. You can use this as a regular tea to provide your insides with all kinds of benefits. Also, you could use green tea to create all kinds of yummy foods. Another fun option is to create fun bath and body creations that you can use to care for your skin and hair. So, check out all the amazing benefits that you can use to pamper your body from head to toe.

Creating homemade bath and body products is great for making easy crafts for adults that produce some amazing results. One option for incorporating green tea into your products is adding the powdered herb directly into your products. Also, you could use our whole green tea cut and sifted to create a tea to use in the water phase of your cosmetic recipes. This homemade tea can be added to many recipes. You can also infuse green tea into the oils you are using in your recipe. Another option for you is to add the whole herb directly into your cosmetic recipes. Adding the whole green tea leaves will provide the regular benefits of green tea along with some light exfoliation for your skin. This could be useful for creating homemade scrub recipes. Now that we have options for incorporating this herb, let’s look at some of the potential benefits.

Green Tea Benefits: Bath and Body Product Benefits

First, this cosmetic herb has been found to be useful for skin complexion. A study had been done with green tea that revealed this herb can be used to rejuvenate the appearance of your skin. Not only does this herbal tea help your complexion, but it can be used to reduce circles or puffy under eyes. This is because green tea contains antioxidants and an astringent that can help shrink the blood vessels. So, you may want to create a lotion soap, or other bath and body product. Also, this herb would be perfect for making bath bombs, as you can soak in the rejuvenating herb as you relax in the tub.

Another great benefit of this herb is that it has been known to help reduce breakouts of acne and pimples. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are both thought to be useful for fighting acne. These properties are thought to fight the bacteria that cause acne and reduce the redness and inflammation, too. Further, it is thought that the catechins in this tea can be used to help regulate hormone imbalances. So, creating an acne soap recipe with green tea would be a great idea!

Green Tea Benefits: Natures Garden Bath and Body Recipes

We incorporated our green tea cut and sifted herb to add some refreshing, soothing properties to our Sunburn Relief Bath Tea Recipe. We included this herb because green tea is popular for homemade sunburn remedies. First, the anti-inflammatory properties will help to reduce the redness and pain. Further, some have found that this herb is effective for reducing your risk of skin cancer or tumors due to UV sunlight. So, green tea is an amazing way to care for your skin after a sunburn and makes a perfect addition to our recipe for sunburn relief.

Green Tea Benefits: Food and BeveragesGreen Tea Benefits: Food and Beverages

The taste of green tea is often bittersweet, but the taste can vary slightly. This variation depends on the growing conditions, processing methods, and harvesting methods. Most often, people will use these leaves to create a tea. This practice is so common that the herb has been called green tea. However, there are other ways that people will use this herb. This includes adding it into their food recipes, as this herb can be a delicious flavor for some meal recipes, like the Green Tea Teriyaki Chicken Recipe. Another delicious example is all of the green tea themed dessert recipes on this Green Tea Food Recipes board on Pinterest, which is full of all kinds of ideas for green tea recipes.

Green Tea Benefits: Medicinal UsesGreen Tea Benefits: Medicinal Uses

Green Tea was one of the many herbs included in traditional Chinese medicine. The natural flavor was said to have cooling properties, which can be used to refresh the mind and promote a positive, alert mental state. Plus, it was thought that this tea will quench your thirst, promote body fluid production, and lead to good digestion. Also, some green tea would be good for a cold, as it has been thought to cool the body and clear phlegm. Plus, it was thought that this tea could flush out toxic evils, as it would flush the body by promoting urination and bowel movements. Some of the traditional benefits that have been studied were immune and cardiac health. First, it was found that green tea contains polyphenols, which can reduce oxidative stress. and prevent oxidation of bad cholesterol. Further, another study on these polyphenols were linked to reduced abnormal cell growth.

Green Tea Benefits: More Medicinal Uses

Also, green tea has been known to kill bad bacteria. So, this tea is thought to help lower your risk of infection and possibly help reduce the length of illnesses. Plus, these properties are beneficial for promoting good oral health. The tea is thought to kill the bad bacteria in the mouth that are responsible for forming plaque and creating cavities. Further, the properties in this herb are thought to help reduce bone loss.

Some people will try green tea to help reduce their chance of cancer. There are properties in this tea that can help protect your cells from oxidation damage. This kind of damage can damage cells and lead to the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells. A few studies were done that found a correlation between drinking green tea and having a reduced risk of certain cancers.

Additionally, green tea has been thought to promote brain health. A study on green tea found that the polyphenols were able to boost the amount of available dopamine in the brain, which promotes a positive mood. Further, these chemicals were found to help regulate insulin in the brain by enhancing the sensitivity for it in the brain. Also, some studies have linked green tea to a reduced risk of certain brain diseases common in old age. These diseases include both Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. Since Parkinson’s disease involves the death of dopamine producing neurons, an herb that promotes the production of dopamine from other cells could be beneficial. Also, EGCG was found to help protect your brain from forming the plaques that are thought to cause Alzhemer’s disease.

Green Tea Benefits: Other UsesGreen Tea Benefits: Other Uses

Another benefit of green tea is that it can help you stay awake. Many people prefer to drink tea instead of coffee, as it doesn’t provide the same “jittery” feeling that coffee can. Although green tea does naturally contain some caffeine, it has a much lower concentration than coffee. So, this is a more gentle way to wake yourself up in the morning. Furthermore, there is a chemical in green tea called theanine, which can provide a calming effect. So, you may be able to use tea to have a calm, alert feeling without the nervous jitters.

Additionally, green tea contains chemicals that are useful for reducing anxiety. This tea contains L-theanine, which has been found to increase leaves of dopamine and improve positive mental function. Also, there have been studies that like green tea to weight loss. It is thought that this tea can help to reduce appetite. Further, there have been mixed results on the EGCG, a powerful antioxidant, in green tea being able to promote weight loss.

What is a Carrier Oil?

What is a Carrier Oil?What is a Carrier Oil?

What is a Carrier Oil? These are all the natural cosmetic oils that you can use in your homemade recipes. They are perfect for creating homemade soap, crafting a skin-loving lotion recipe, and making many of the other kinds of cosmetic recipes. So, knowing about these oils is important for creating the types of bath and body products that you need!

What is a Carrier Oil?: Making Soap Supplies

If you are looking for a good recipe for making soap, then it is going to have some carrier oils in it. Anyone making soap from scratch knows that the carrier oils you choose can influence the quality of your bars. So, these ingredients are essential for cold process soap recipes. You can see specifics on how each oil affects the soap on our Soaping Oil Properties. Even melt and pour soap recipes can benefit by adding some carrier oils to the soap base, which is often done to make the bar more conditioning to the skin.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Lotion Making

Also, our bulk carrier oils can be used to create an amazing homemade lotion recipe. These are the oils that we include to nourish and moisturize your skin. In fact, the oils are what do the majority of the skin care in lotions. While you can use butters along with your oils, they can lead to a thicker cream or even a body butter. So, lighter lotions need key carrier oils to perform effectively!

What is a Carrier Oil?: Using Essential Oils

Although essential oils are natural, they aren’t safe to put directly on your skin. Plus, adding a carrier oil will help hold on to the aroma longer than on its own. So, it is actually beneficial for your scent to mix an essential oil with a carrier oil before applying. One of the best carrier oils for essential oils would have to be Sweet Almond Oil or Argan Oil.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Kinds of Carrier OilsWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Kinds of Carrier Oils

There are many different kinds of carrier oils that you can mix together for your recipes. Depending on your skin type or level of dryness, you may want to have lighter or heavier oils. Also, some oils are better for face lotions or for foot care. So, the blend of carrier oils that you want varies based on your product and its purpose.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Apricot Kernel OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Apricot Kernel Oil

First, we have Apricot Kernel Oil, an oil that is light and excellent for skin care. While this oil is light enough to not block pores, it is conditioning enough to be a luxurious oil for cp soap. It’s great for making lotions that don’t leave a greasy feeling and skin into the skin. Also, its perfect in soap because the oil will sink into the skin quickly to fully moisturize the skin. We’ve used this wonderful oil in many bath and body recipes, including the Chamomile Light Lotion Recipe and the Strawberries and Champagne CP Soap Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Argan OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Argan Oil

Next, we have an oil that is amazing for skin care. Argan Oil is easily absorbed into the skin and won’t leave a greasy feeling on your skin. Plus, this cosmetic oil allows your skin to breathe and doesn’t block pores. In fact, this ingredient is used in many acne-fighting recipes. We included this oil in a few cosmetic recipes, like the Argan Soap Recipe and the Sour Watermelon Sugar Scrub Cubes Recipe. In our cp soap recipe, this oil increased the lather and nourished the skin beautifully.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Avocado OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Avocado Oil

Also, adding Avocado Oil to your homemade recipes is a perfect way to increase the moisturizing ability of your product. This cosmetic ingredient is a heavy oil that is perfect for providing dry, damaged skin with the nourishment it deserves. Plus, the high level of unsaponifiable fatty acids and high vitamin content make this skin-sensitive oil great for adding some extra conditioning power to your soap bars, which you can see in the Gentle Avocado Cold Process Soap Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Castor OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Castor Oil

Another great oil for your homemade cosmetic recipes is Castor Oil. Not only is this oil thick and perfect for nourishing dry, damaged skin, but this oil is a humectant. This means that oil will pull moisture to it, which will further moisturize your skin as it absorbs. Perfect for creating lotions for feet, like the Natural Salve Recipe , which are often one of the most damaged areas of skin. While this oil would provide some conditioning properties and a rich, creamy lather, it can make your soap sticky. So, avoid adding too much of this oil in your cp soap formulations. By limiting the amount of Castor Oil, we were able use the beneficial properties without as many drawbacks, like with our St Pattys Day Cold Process Soap Recipe as well as many other soaps.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Coconut OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is a great oil for skin that sinks in well and is perfect for scrub recipes like the Foaming Hibiscus Scrub Recipe. Also, this sensitive oil is perfect to add to lip balm supplies for making recipes like the Kahlua and Cream Lip Balm Recipe. For soapmaking, this oil provides a hard bar with a bubbly lather that is cleansing. Many find that adding more than 20% of this oil is drying for the skin, so some people may include more conditioning oils to the recipe or even super fat the formula to include more oils.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Grapeseed OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Grapeseed Oil

Another fantastic oil for bath and body recipes is Grapeseed Oil. This oil is perfect for cosmetic supplies because it is a lightweight moisturizer that is effective without being too greasy for the skin. So, this oil is perfect for creating lotions sensitive enough for the face, like our Natural Facial Night Cream Recipe. Also, this oil is perfect for soap-making, like our Raspberry CP Soap Recipe. This oil is moisturizing, and even anti-acne, for soap but it doesn’t leave a greasy, heavy oil feeling on the skin.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Jojoba OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Jojoba Oil

While Jojoba Oil is technically a liquid wax, it is still fantastic for skin care products. This cosmetic ingredient is perfect for everything from lotions like our Shea Lotion with Herbal Infusion Recipe to lip care products like our Green Apple Lip Balm Recipe. In your soap recipes, this cosmetic ingredient is just as conditioning as luxury oils. But, this oil has a longer shelf life.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Lanolin OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Lanolin Oil

Lanolin Oil is a great cosmetic oil that is wonderful for moisturizing and protecting damaged hair and dry skin. This oil contains very few saponifiables, so it maintains its conditioning properties and provides the bar with a silky feeling. So, we used this wonderful oil in our Strawberries and Champagne CP Soap Recipe. Also, you can use lanoin in a solid form, which still absorbs well and is great for protecting damaged skin. This thicker oil has all of the same beneficial properties and can even be used in soaps, like our Beard Soap Recipe.

Raspberry CP Soap Recipe What is a Carrier Oil?: Macadamia Nut Oil

Next, we have Macadamia Nut Oil, which is an oil that is light and perfectly absorbs into the skin. This non-greasy oil is perfect for creating lotions, like our Almond Body Cream Recipe. Also, this oil is perfect for adding conditioning properties to your soap and is even great for mature skin types. So, we included this oil in our Lavender Cold Process Soap Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Meadowfoam Seed OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Meadowfoam Seed Oil

Another great oil that skins into the skin beautifully is Meadowfoam Seed Oil. Not only does this oil work to repair damaged skin, but it has a long shelf life due to its high level of antioxidants. So, it worked wonderfully in our Honey Vanilla Lip Balm Recipe. Also, this cosmetic oil can be used to superfat soap, reduce rancidity, and increase the fragrance’s lifespan. So, this oil was a great addition to our Raspberry CP Soap Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Olive Oil

Olive Oil is often a top choice for soapers, because it is very conditioning, helps harden the bar, and creates a mild bar of soap. While some soapmakers may use only olive oil in Castille soap or mostly olive oil in Marseille soap, it makes the bar a bit slimy and barely has a lather. So, many soapers will combine this oil with others to create a great soap recipe, like in our Creamy Cocoa Craziness Cold Process Soap Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Palm OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Palm Oil

Next, we have another great oil for creating soaps, which is Palm Oil. This soap making ingredient creates a hard, white bar that has a rich, creamy lather. We have used this wonderfully cleansing oil in many recipes, like our Calendula Swirl Soap Recipe and our Beer Cold Process Soap Recipe.

You may find that your cosmetic oil has solidified, this is because the melt point is slightly above room temperature. Luckily, this is easy to fix. All you have to do is set your bottle in a bowl of warm water until the oil melts again.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Pumpkin Seed OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Pumpkin Seed Oil

Pumpkin Seed Oil is rich in vitamins and minerals, which provide great properties for the skin. This oil sinks into the skin without leaving oily residue to repair damaged skin. So, it was a perfect addition to our Pumpkin Sugar Scrub Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Rice Bran OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Rice Bran Oil

Rice Bran Oil has benefits similar to Olive Oil, so it is conditioning and great for soaps! So, we included this lovely soaping oil in our Wine Cold Process Soap Recipe as well as other great cp soap recipes. Plus, this rich, conditioning bar is perfect for both mature and sensitive skin types.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Safflower OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Safflower Oil

Also, we have a nourishing and skin-loving oil that is perfect for homemade products. Safflower Oil is moisturizing and nourishing for the skin, so we included it in many soap recipes and our own Hair Conditioner For Redheads Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Sesame Seed OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Sesame Seed Oil

Another great cosmetic oil is Sesame Seed Oil, which is a light cosmetic ingredient full of nutrients for the skin. We include this lovely oil in recipes like our Giraffe Bubble Bars Recipe or our Beard Balm Recipe. Also, this oil can be used in cp soap to help slow trace, nourish the skin, and provide a silky lather.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Sunflower OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Sunflower Oil

Also, Sunflower Oil works well with palm oil and olive oils to provide a rich creamy lather. Plus, this oil is very moisturizing and will provide a silky feel to the soaps. So, this is perfect for adding to our soap recipes and bath products, like our Natural Beet Root Lip Gloss Recipe.

What is a Carrier Oil?: Sweet Almond OilWhat is a Carrier Oil?: Sweet Almond Oil

Lastly, we have a light oil that will perfectly absorb into the skin Sweet Almond Oil. So, it was a great choice for bath and body recipes like Tranquility Bath Melts Recipe or Fruity Rings Emulsified Sugar Scrub Recipe. Plus, this oil is perfect for adding some conditioning properties to your soaps.

Jojoba Oil BenefitsJojoba Oil Benefits

Every cosmetic oil has different nutrients and levels of moisture. Also, some cosmetic oils have unique properties that can contribute to the oils ability in your products.  These various properties in the cosmetic oil can be utilized in your products. This will allow you to create a homemade product that exactly matches your body’s needs. Jojoba oil is a wonderful cosmetic oil that is light enough to be used in a facial but is still great for moisturizing your skin. Plus, there are all kinds of wonderful benefits that this oil has for both the hair and skin. So, here are some of the jojoba oil benefits for both your homemade products and your body.

Jojoba Oil Benefits: The Jojoba Plant

This lovely cosmetic oil comes from the seeds of the Jojoba Plant. This shrub is easy to care for and is known to withstand droughts. All the plant needs is soil that will drain easily, like sand, and a little bit of irrigation. So, it is common in hot, dry areas like Arizona or southern California. If you would like to learn more about this plant, then you can find out more on the Jojoba Plant Care: Tips For Growing Jojoba Plants article by Gardening Know How.

Jojoba Oil Benefits for Your Homemade Bath and Body Products

While making your homemade recipes, you would want to understand how each of your ingredients will work in the product. Sometimes you want a recipe that is more cleansing and other times you want a deeply conditioning recipe. It all depends on your needs and the product you are trying to create. But, it would be difficult to create a product with your desired properties without knowing about your individual ingredients. So, here is one cosmetic oil that you could possibly use in your various bath and body products. You can read about this oils properties and decide whether this is the cosmetic ingredient that would be perfect for your recipes!

Jojoba Oil Benefits for Lotion RecipesJojoba Oil Benefits for Lotion Recipes

Plus, this oil has a fairly average rate for absorption. This means that this oil will sink into your skin and won’t leave a greasy feel on your skin. While this cosmetic oil isn’t the fastest oil to sink into your skin, it is fairly fast compared to many other moisturizing oils. Plus, this oil is full of nutrients and benefits that you will not want to pass up. In fact, we included this skin-loving oil in your lovely Wine Lotion Recipe, which is perfect for skin care!

Jojoba Oil Benefits for Scrub RecipesJojoba Oil Benefits for Scrub Recipes

Not only is Jojoba Oil great for creating lotion recipes, but you can create some lovely scrub recipes with this oil, too. While scrubs are similar to lotions, there is a slight difference between the two cosmetics. That is the exfoliation power of scrub recipes! Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Clean and Prepare Work Station

Before you get started on this recipe, you should clean and prepare the area that you are going to be working in. This will prevent any specs of dirt from accidentally getting into the recipe and it will make the entire process more enjoyable for you. First, cleaning and sanitizing the equipment you need and tidying the work space will keep your projects clean and beautiful. Nothing is worse than finding a spec in your design that you didn’t catch before your wax cooled. Plus, having everything ready to go will make your experience more enjoyable and stress-free! This way you can just focus on the fun of crafting.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Creating the Double Boiler

A double boiler is the perfect way to gently heat your ingredients and this method will minimize the risk of scorching your wax. If you don’t know how to create a double boiler, then we will walk you through the simple steps! Since you are melting wax, you can use the pouring pot to hold your melting ingredients. Then, you will want to have a larger pot that the pouring pot can easily fit into with extra room on the sides. Next, add enough water to the larger pot that it touches the pouring pot, but won’t boil over. After, place the pouring pot into the larger pot. Then, add the larger pot to the stove and boil the water.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe Measure the Necessary HerbsRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Measure the Necessary Herbs

First, you are going to want to prepare the various herbs that this recipe will need. These herbs are perfect for adding to the appearance of these melts. You are going to be working with four different herbs in this recipe.  Not only will you need to prepare a mixture of herbs for the middle of the melts, but you will need to get the cinnamon sticks ready for the top of the melts. So, the two herb preparations will be needed at different steps in the process.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Prepare the Herb Mixture

You will need to prepare the mixture of herbs that will be added to the wax melts. So, take a bowl and the scale. Then, weigh out about an ounce of juniper berries, orange peel cut and sifted, and whole cloves each. After, mix these herbs together and set this bowl aside. Later, these herbs will be added to the mold cavities with the wax to create your homemade wax tarts.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Prepare the Cinnamon Sticks

Separate from the bowl of herbs, you are going to want to prepare the cinnamon sticks. You are going to need twenty-four pieces in total. However, you will be breaking each cinnamon stick into smaller bits, so you won’t need a whole lot. You can get about 2-3 pieces from each individual cinnamon stick. You should look at the size of the mold’s cavities and make sure your pieces are small enough to fit on top. Then, set these cinnamon stick pieces aside.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melting the Candle WaxRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melting the Candle Wax

Next, you are going to prepare the Pillar of Bliss Wax for these homemade rustic wax tarts. So, take the pouring pot and weigh out about 345 grams of the wax into it. After, you will need to melt the wax completely. So, create your double boiler and heat the pillar of bliss wax. You will want to set the heat to a make sure that the water is boiling. So, you won’t need to turn the stove temperature all the way up. Also, make sure that you stir the wax to help prevent burning.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe Adding in the Fragrance OilRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding in the Fragrance Oil

Once all of the wax melts, you can remove the pouring pot from the heat. Then, you will add a thermometer to the pouring pot. This is to make sure that the wax isn’t too hot when you add the fragrance oil. If it is too hot, then the wax could burn off notes of your fragrance oil. Obviously, you don’t want to ruin this delightful Christmas spice aroma. So, make sure the thermometer is at about 180 degrees Fahrenheit before you add the fragrance. After you reach the right temperature you can pour in 41 grams of the Christmas Wassail Fragrance Oil and stir the wax to incorporate the scented oil.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Herbs to the MoldRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Herbs to the Mold

Before you are able to pour your melted wax, you are going to add some herbs to the mold. So, you will need to retrieve the small bowl that contains the mixture of juniper berries, orange peel c/s, and whole clove. However, you will not need the cinnamon sticks quite yet. So, leave this fourth herb off to the side. Now add a bit of this mixed herb mixture into each of the twenty-four cavities. We will not need this herb mixture later, so be sure to use it all in this step. You can go back and fill in cavities that don’t have as much as others.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Pouring the WaxRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Pouring the Wax

Now, you are ready to pour the melted Pillar of Bliss Wax into the mold. So, grab your scented wax and begin pouring your wax over the herbs. You will want to fill each of the twenty-four cavities all of the way up. Be careful not to overflow, but you will want to move to the next step quickly. In the next step you will want the wax to still be liquid in the molds. So, try your best to move quickly on to the next step.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Cinnamon SticksRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Cinnamon Sticks

Now, you are going to add the pieces of cinnamon sticks to the top of the wax melts. You are going to want to move quickly before the tarts begin to set up. If not, you may not be able to get the cinnamon sticks to stay put. Also, we recommend sticking one portion of the herb into the wax melt and have the other part of the cinnamon stick poking out above the wax tart. This way the cinnamon stick can be seen from the top and adds to the rustic charm of this lovely recipe.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Removing from the MoldRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Removing from the Mold

As your pillar of bliss tarts begin to set up, you will start to see how each wax melt will look. While these tarts all include the same ingredients, each one is unique and special, like a snowflake. Once the wax cools completely the wax won’t be transparent anymore, so only the herbs on top will be seen. This will leave you with just a few of these herbs poking through. This is what gives this recipe the gorgeous rustic appearance. Finally, when the wax has completely solidified you are ready to pop the wax melts out of their molds.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Curing Before Use

Although you may be anxious and excited to test out your finished product, those extra few days of curing is exactly what your wax tarts need to be at their best. You can technically use your creation immediately, as there is nothing wrong with them. However, the scent isn’t going to be right until it has a chance to cure! While your wax tarts are finished, you won’t get the absolute best results unless you give the product time to cure. It super easy to do and only takes a couple days. Just let your wax melts sit undisturbed as the fragrance oil settles in your creation. After, you will be so glad that you waited!

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melted Snowman

One adorable thing that we noticed about this Christmas craft recipe is that it looks like a melted snowman! The cinnamon stick looks like a stick arm. Also, the juniper berries look like the coal for the buttons, mouth, and eyes. Plus, the orange peel looks like the carrot nose! I remember making snowmen with my little brother. We would make our own so we could see which one was better, but we’d end up helping each other anyway. It was always a great way to spend a snow day. While nobody is happy to see their snowman disappear, it’s really all about the fun time that you had creating your snow friend. Just like wax melts, you don’t want to melt your beautiful designs, but they smell too good not too! So, enjoy this super cute wax tart recipe that is perfect for the winter season and the holidays.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Preparations Prior to StartingBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Preparations Prior to Starting

Prior to preparing for your Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe, really focus on making sure your work space is prepared and ready to begin. Make sure all your equipment is clean and sanitized. Get all of the ingredients and supplies out and in your work station prior to starting as well. We also recommend putting on protective clothing, such as a soap making apron and gloves along with a hair net when making your homemade soap recipe. Finally, fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and place a sprayer on top. Rubbing alcohol not only helps with adhesion between the layers of soap but also to release any air bubbles in the soap before it sets up.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 1: Creating the EmbedsBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 1: Creating the Embeds

First, you are going to create the cute little blackberry embeds that go on top of the Blackberry Cupcake Soap’s frosting. First, you will need a microwave safe small bowl. Now, you will use your scale to weigh out 75 grams of SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap. Cut your clear melt and pour soap into small sections before you begin to melt the base.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 2: Melt in MicrowaveBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 2: Melting Your Clear Soap

Once you have weighed out your SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap, you are going to melt it in your microwave. You are going to want to melt the clear mp soap base in 30-second intervals until it is completely fluid. Also, you will want to make sure you stir the SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap while you are melting it. You need to continue to heat the base until it is in a liquid state, be careful not to overheat the soap base.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 3: Add Fragrance Oil and Soap ColorantBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 3: Coloring and Scenting the Blackberry Embeds

Next, remove the SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap from the microwave and add your soap colorants and fragrance oil. You will need to add 2 grams of Natures Garden Blackberry Jam Fragrance Oil along with 1 drop of black oxide FUN Soap Colorant. Also, add 4 drops of the Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant. Lastly, you are going to want to incorporate the ingredients fully into your melted SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap. Mix slowly until everything you added is blended thoroughly and evenly.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 4: Pouring the Blackberry Embeds

Finally, pour the SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap into 10 cavities of the raspberries and blackberries mold. We recommend getting this mold from www.flexiblemolds.com. Once you pour the soap, be sure to spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles in your melted soap base that may have been created while mixing and pouring your melt and pour soap into the mold.  Allow the soap to completely setup before removing the blackberries from the mold.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 5: Preparing BaseBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 5: Preparing the Cupcake Bases

Now, you are going to start preparing your cupcake bases. Again, you are going to need the SLS Free Clear Soap Base. At this time you will also need the cupcake mold market mold. Next, in a small microwave-safe bowl, weigh out and melt 200 grams of your SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap Base. Remember to heat up your SLS Fee Melt and Pour Soap in the microwave in 30 second intervals so you do not overheat the clear soap. In addition, you will want to stir your soap base in between each 30 second burst to help it melt evenly.

BlackBerry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 6: Add Fragrance Oil and Soap Colorant Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 6: Adding Fragrance Oil and Soap Colorant

Once you melted your 200 grams of SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap base, you are going to add 6 grams of your Blackberry Jam Fragrance Oil and make sure it is mixed completely into your melted soap base. Next, add 15 drops of Natures Garden Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant to your melted soap base and 2 drops of your Black Oxide FUN Soap Colorant to your melted soap base. Lastly, mix both FUN Soap Colorants completely to incorporate the colors into your melted detergent-free soap base.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 7: Pour in MoldBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 7: Pouring Your Cupcake Bases

Now, you are ready to pour your SLS Free Melt and Pour Soap into your the cupcake base cavities of the cupcake mold. You will notice that this mold has four cavities, two cupcake bases and two cupcake tops. You will only need to pour the cupcake bases of the mold, not the cupcake top cavities. So, slowly pour the purple soap to fill the two cavities. Next, you are going to want to spray the purple soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles that may have formed. Air bubbles can get trapped in the soap as it is setting up, so make sure you spray the homemade soap as soon as you pour it. Finally, you will want to let the soap setup completely before moving on to the next step.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 9: Adding liquids to Goat Milk Melt and PourBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 8: Preparing the Whipped Soap Base for the Cupcakes

Next, you are going to prepare the whipped topping portion for your Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe. First, you are going to want to prepare the whipped soap base. For this you will need a medium size mixing bowl ready. Then, weigh out 215 grams of whipped soap base. Now, to the bowl containing the whipped soap base, add 21 grams of vegetable glycerin. Also, you are going to want to add 14 grams of Blackberry Jam Fragrance. Finally, use your hand mixer to whip the soap to a fluffy frosting like consistency. Then, set the bowl aside, you will come back to it shortly.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 9: Preparing the Goat Milk Melt and Pour

Now, in a separate bowl, we will be weighing out your Goat’s Milk MP Soap.  This soap is going to be mixed with the whipped soap base.  By adding mp soap to the whipped soap base it hardens the whipped soap a bit.  While it will still look like frosting it won’t be super soft. This means it can be easily packaged while still maintaining its cupcake appearance.  So, in a deep bowl, weigh out 215 grams of goat milk melt and pour soap. Once again, you are going to want to melt the goat milk melt and pour soap in the microwave in 30 second intervals. Once the soap base is completely melted, we can move on and put everything together.  You will need to move quickly through the next few steps as the base can setup rather fast.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 10: Add Melted and Whipped Soap BaseBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 10: Putting Everything Together

Next, we will complete the whipped soap frosting. This means it is time to put everything together. You will need to move quickly as the soap frosting does tend to setup quickly. You are going to add your melted goat milk melt and pour soap to your whipped soap base. Again, while using your hand mixer, combine the melt and pour and whipped soap base ingredients until you have a fluffy whipped frosting consistency. Be careful not to over mix.  Over mixing can cause your frosting to setup before you are able to frost the soap cupcakes.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 11: Scoop and PlaceBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 11: Topping Your Cupcakes

Now, quickly scoop some of the soap frosting onto each cupcake base you created earlier. Next, you will need the blackberry embeds you prepared earlier. You are finally ready to use those cute blackberry embeds you made! Place the blackberries on the top of each homemade soap cupcake. Push it slightly into the soap frosting so it stays in place. You should have about 10 blackberries to top both cupcakes. This blackberry soap recipe makes two cupcakes. So, this allows you to add up to 5 blackberries per soap cupcake.

Blackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 12: Finishing TouchesBlackberry Cupcake Soap Recipe Step 12: Finishing Touches

Finally, you are going to prepare the light purple drizzle that you are going to put on top of your homemade blackberry cupcake soap! First, you will want to lay down a piece of wax paper. The wax paper will help keep your area clean and protected while drizzling. Then, remove your cupcakes from the molds and place them on the wax paper. Next, go ahead and melt about 50 grams of goat’s milk melt and pour soap in the microwave. Once that is melted, you can add 1 gram of Natures Garden Blackberry Jam Fragrance Oil. Also, you are going to add 10 drops of FUN soap colorant- Ultramarine Violet. Be sure to mix the two well so you have a consistent color. Once you have created the purple drizzle, use a spoon to drizzle the melted light purple soap over the top of each cupcake. Once you have allowed the drizzle to setup, your soap cupcakes are ready to use!
