Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Prepare and Sanitize

Before you begin creating this bath and body recipe, you may want to make a few preparations. First, gather all the equipment and supplies that you will need to finish these bath bombs. Also, you may want to clean your equipment to ensure that it is ready to use. Additionally, you may want to prepare a spray bottle full of witch hazel, as it will be important for making bath bombs. Second, you will want to clean and sanitize a work area that you can use to create this recipe.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Dry IngredientsLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Dry Ingredients

First, you are going to want to get the dry ingredients ready for your bath bomb recipe. So, take you first medium mixing bowl and a scale. Now, weigh out the 300 grams of the Citric Acid, 600 grams of the Baking Soda,182 grams of the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, and 10 grams of the Bentonite Clay Powder. After adding all of these ingredients, you will need to mix these powders together with your gloved hands. As you mix, make sure that any clumps you com across get broken up. Once these ingredients are smooth and mixed, you can move on to the next step of these instructions.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Wet Ingredients

Next, you are ready to prepare the wet ingredients that you will need for this recipe. So, grab a second mixing bowl and the scale. Weigh 18 grams of the Sunflower Oil into this bowl. In addition to the cosmetic oil, you will need to include 18 grams of our Floral Musk Fragrance Oil. Now that these ingredients are added, you are ready to move on to the next step.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Combining the Wet and Dry Ingredients

Once both the wet and dry ingredients are prepared, you will be ready to combine the two mixtures. So, add the wet ingredients to your mixing bowl of dry ingredients. Now, use your gloved hands to thoroughly mix these ingredients together. You will need to continue to mix until everything is incorporated well. As soon as the ingredients look evenly dispersed, you can stop mixing.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Dividing the Mixture

Now you are going to be dividing your bath bomb mixture into two even portions. You can add each portion to one of your two mixing bowls. Set one of these bowls aside for the moment. We will be adding a few cosmetic ingredients to the other bowl in the next few steps.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding the Lavender FlowersLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding the Lavender Flowers

First, we will be working with the first portion of the bath bomb mixture. So, take one of the mixing bowls full of half the mixture and the scale. Now, you will be adding about 5 grams of the Lavender Flowers Whole herb to this portion of the cosmetic recipe. Again, you will need to use a gloved hand to mix the wholesale herb into the recipe fully.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Mixture

Now, you are ready to get these ingredients to stick together. So, use a gloved hand to mix the ingredients as you spray with witch hazel. Mixing as you spray will help to incorporate the witch hazel and let you know when you added enough spray. Once the mixture reaches a certain consistency, you will need to stop spraying the mixture. So, continue to mix and spray until the mixture begins to feel like crumbly dough. You will want to work slow and be careful not to add to much spray as it can ruin the recipe. Adding to much witch hazel can activate the ingredients early and lead to fizzing in the bowl. So, be sure to pay attention.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Filling Half of the Bath Bomb Molds

After, you are going to be ready to start filling up your bath bomb molds. You will need to take the seven bath bomb mold halves and get them ready to fill. Then, begin taking this mixture and filling one half of each wholesale mold. Make sure that you aren’t filling both sides of the same mold, as there is a top and bottom to each wholesale bath bomb mold. We would suggest filling the top half with this first mixture. You will need to make sure that you are packing the dough mixture into the bath bomb half tightly. Packing the mold well will ensure that the ingredients stick together and the bath bomb holds its shape.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding Herb Powder and Soap ColorantLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding Herb Powder and Soap Colorant

Next, you will be working with the other half of the bath bomb mixture. In this bowl you will be adding 5 grams of the Lavender Flowers Powder and 6 grams of the Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant. Once these ingredients are added you will need to mix them well. Once again you will need to use a gloved hand to fully incorporate the herb powder and the colorant into the mixture.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Second PortionLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Second Portion

Then, you are going to be spraying this second portion of the bath bomb mixture with your witch hazel. Just like before you will need to use your gloved hand to mix as you spray. Once this portion of the bath bomb mixture reaches the same crumbly dough consistency, you will be ready to move on to the next step. While this recipe should require about the same amount of witch hazel as before, you should still pay attention to the consistency to ensure that you don’t spray too much.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Filling the Bottom of the Molds

Next, we are going to be filling up the other halves of the bath bomb molds. The first portion of the bath bombs molds should each be in the top of the bath bomb mold. So, you can fill the bottom of these molds with this second portion of the dough mixture. Again, you will need to pack the dough in tightly. Also, you need to do it this way to sure that each pair is matched up correctly, as the tops will only fit on the bottoms. If you mess this up, then you can end up with bath bombs that aren’t half and half. Once you are done, you should have seven purple bath bomb halves that are packed full.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Combining the Bath Bomb Molds

Now that both of the two portions are packed tightly into the bath bomb molds, you are ready to combine the halves. So, take one half that is uncolored, which should be in a top piece, and one half that is purple, which should be in a bottom piece. Next, you are going to lightly spray each of the two halves. After you spray, you can push the two pieces together to create a whole bath bomb! You will need to repeat this step for all of the bath bombs.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Finishing the Bath BombsLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Finishing the Bath Bombs

Lastly, you will need to wait for your bath bombs to completely set up. So, you will need to place your bath bombs in a safe place that they can rest until they have completely hardened. This can take up to 24 hours.  Once these bath bombs are set up, they are ready to remove from the mold! Alternatively, you can leave these bath and body products in their molds until you are ready to use them. So, the mold can serve as a simple bath bomb packaging idea!

Again, you will need to mix the dough with your gloved hand as you spray. Once you obtain the correct consistency you will be ready to move on to the next step.

Hibiscus Bath Bomb Recipe: Fill the Second Half of the Bath BombHibiscus Bath Bomb Recipe: Fill the Second Half of the Bath Bomb

Next, you will be filling the other halves of  your bath bomb molds. So, take the portion of this mixture with the whole hibiscus flowers. Interestingly, the Tamri goats, which eat these Moroccan fruits, would be used to help Argan Oil producers break down the hard shell of the argan nut. Now, factories can break down the nut without the help of goats, but there are some people still producing Argan Oil in this traditional way. If you want to learn more, then check out this article we found. Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic RecipesCream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes

If you enjoy baking scrumptious desserts or you like to create bath bombs or bubble bars using Natures Garden recipes, then you have probably heard of cream of tartar. However, you may not know what it is made from or what it even does for your products. While it is not glamorous or often known, there are many reasons to use cream of tartar. This ingredient is an integral part of some cosmetic recipes as well as many dessert recipes. If you are curious about the ins and outs of this cosmetic additive, then this is the perfect blog for you!

Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: Cream of Tartar History

We can date the creation of cream of tartar back for 7000 years, where the powder was discovered in some ancient village ruins in Iran. Although we don’t know whether cream of tartar was used at this point, it was found in the bottom of a wine making jar. However, it could just been the by product that was ignored after wine making. Around 1769, a chemist in Sweden, who was named CW Scheele, purified cream of tartar and developed the modern practice that is used to purify it to this day. In 1832, Jean Baptiste Biot experimented with this cream of tartar and learned about many of its properties. Throughout the following years this multipurpose ingredient has been used in things like French cuisine, homemade bath bombs, and even natural home cleaners.

Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: Advancements in Science

Though studying wine making and the substances that were created during this process, like cream of tartar, Louis Pasteur was able to make some ground break discoveries in organic chemistry. After, preparing the same salt naturally through wine making and synthetically in the lab he realized that the two were not exactly the same. In fact, they were mirror images! After some continued work in the lab he found that he was able to synthetically create both types, while the natural process only resulted in the one type. Now, this is referred to as the Chirality of a molecule, or its “handedness” as it can be left or right. Furthermore, this led to the idea that molecules were not flat, but three dimensional.

Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: What is Cream of Tartar?Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: What is the Source of Cream of Tartar?

Cream of tartar, or Potassium Hydrogen Tartrate, is a white powdery substance that is slightly acidic in nature. This powder is created from a byproduct when grapes are fermented. So, cream of tartar begins its formation inside the barrels when wine is made. Initially, the substance created is called argol, or beeswing, and it has a red-brown color.  Also, this substance is useful during fermentation, as it helps maintain pH and preserve the grapes during the fermentation process. After, the wine is finished and removed from the container. Then, the argol residue left behind can be purified and turned into white, odorless cream of tartar powder.

Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: All Natural Cleaning

Another benefit of this cream of tartar is that you can use it in some natural cleaning recipes. You can create a paste of just water and cream of tartar. This paste can then be used to clean all sorts of things around the house. First, you can use this paste to make aluminum or copper cookware look cleaner and almost like new. After, soaking you can rinse and wash like normal to help keep your clothes looking good. Also, you can even use cream of tartar with hydrogen peroxide to clean the bathroom. Cream of tartar can help with rust in the bathtub and even brightening up the porcelain all over the room.

Cream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: BakingCream of Tartar in Cosmetic Recipes: Using Cream of Tartar for Baking

One of the most common uses for cream of tartar in baking is to stabilize egg whites. This is useful for creating many kinds of desserts, specifically meringue. Also, cream of tartar will help to increase the volume and prevent collapse. You can see in this basic, Good Meringue recipe from Allrecipes that cream of tartar is an important ingredient. Additionally, Cream of tartar can be used to activate the baking soda in a recipe. In fact, you could create your own baking powder with these two powders. However, cream of tartar isn’t the only ingredient that can be used to activate the baking soda. Since both cream of tartar and lemons are acidic, these are a few options that you can use to pair with the baking soda.

Additionally, cream of tartar can be used to improve the quality of candy and other sugary foods. Since this ingredient is slightly acidic, it is useful for helping prevent the sugar from creating large crystals. So, adding this ingredient allows you to create recipes that require a lot of sugar without getting crunchy or gritty. This is useful for creating candy and other sugary treats. This is because including a bit of cream of tartar can keep your recipe from getting too brittle or crunchy. So, anyone creating a sugary syrup, chocolate, hard candy, or other yummy sweets may want to think about adding a but of cream of tartar.

Grapefruit Benefits: Growing ConditionsGrapefruit Benefits: Growing Conditions

First of all, grapefruit trees will require a temperate or tropical climate. These conditions are ideal because these plants need lots of sunlight and warm conditions. In fact, they need it to be relatively warm both during the day as well as at night. So, more tropical regions may be best, but they can survive in temperate regions with some extra care. Also, the grapefruit trees like to have loamy soil that drains well.
Another thing you will want to pay attention to is the amount of space available for your tree to grow. When planting the tree try to pick a place on your land that will provide the most sun, some good winter protection, and at least twelve feet of space from buildings or driveways. After planting, you will want to water your sapling every couple of days. After about a week or so, you can start to water deeply just once a week. However, you may want to water more often during drought periods.

Grapefruit Benefits: Tips for Harvesting Grapefruits

During the first three years, you won’t have a harvest from a grapefruit tree. Instead, your grapefruit tree should direct its energy into growth. So, you may want to remove any small fruits that you see growing before the three year mark. Although you may be eager to try your homegrown fruit, picking these early fruits will ensure your tree grows to be strong. Once your tree is old enough, your fruits will be ready to be harvested in the fall. You will be able to tell they are ripe by their color. If the grapefruits have become a yellow or gold color, then they are ready to pick.

But, anyone that prefers their grapefruit on the sweeter side, like me, can leave the fruits on the tree a bit longer. This will allow them to get a bit larger and sweeter. However, use caution, they can be left on the tree for too long. An overripe grapefruit will appear lumpy and should be discarded.
