In our Christmas Bath Cookie Recipe, we use the wonderful Christmas Cookies scent.  Christmas Cookies fragrance oil by Natures Garden smells just like a freshly-baked, buttery Christmas Cookie with frosting.  Not only do we think this fragrance oil smells amazing, our customers agree, making Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil one of Natures Garden’s best-selling fragrance oils.  In fact, one client had this to say, “I always cross my fingers that this will stay at NG. Although it’s called Christmas cookie, I use this all year long. My favorite vanilla rich cookie scent I have ever found. Of course, need to stabilize it in mp soap. Divine! 5 stars recommend.”  This cookie scent is a must have fragrance for many, year round.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Prepare the Bath Cookies

We will be preparing two parts when making our bath cookies.  First, we will be making the actual bath cookies.  Later, once they setup, we will be adding our frosting and sprinkle.  So, let’s start with the actual cookie bath fizzy.

Prepare the Bath Cookies: Weigh Out the Dry IngredientsPrepare the Bath Cookies: Weigh Out the Dry Ingredients

We will begin by weighing out our dry ingredients.  So, get out your mixing bowl.  Then, weigh and add 330 grams of your baking soda, 186 of the Epsom salt, 142 grams of your corn starch, 18 grams of Natures Garden’s kaolin white clay powder, and 54 grams powdered milk.  Next, with clean gloves on, use your hands to blend and mix the powders together.  If you notice any lumps in the mixture, be sure to break them up.  Set this bowl aside while we prepare the liquid portion of our recipe.

Prepare the Bath Cookies: Weighing Out and Melting the Wet IngredientsPrepare the Bath Cookies: Weighing Out and Melting the Wet Ingredients

Now, in a clean bowl, we will weigh out our wet ingredients that we will be melting.  So, in this bowl, weigh out 100 grams of your mango butter, 42 grams of your rice bran oil, and 50 grams of your cocoa butter golden natural.

Next, we will be melting the oil and butters using a double boiler.  So, you will need two pots.  One should be larger, the other smaller.  In the larger pot, add a few inches of water.  Then, place it on your stove top to heat.  In the smaller pot, add your butters and oil.  Now, place the small pot inside the large pot on the stove top.  Allow the oil and butter to melt, stirring occasionally.  By using a double boiler it will slowly melt the oils.  This will prevent them from melting too quickly and burning.

Prepare the Bath Cookies: Weighing Out and Melting the Wet IngredientsWhile you are waiting for your oils to melt, we will prepare our Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil.  Due to the high vanilla content of Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil, we will be adding Vanilla White Color Stabilizer to the cookie scent.  So, in a small bowl, add 20 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer and 20 grams Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil.

Next, we will go back to oils you are melting on the stove.  Once these oils have fully melted, place them back in the bowl that you used to weight them out.  Finally, add the Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil mixture you have prepared.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Adding the Wet Ingredients to the Dry IngredientsChristmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Adding the Wet Ingredients to the Dry Ingredients

Once you have prepared the wet ingredients, you will need both the dry, powdered ingredients in front of you.  I highly recommend wearing clean gloves.  Then, slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.  Mix everything together using your hands.  You want to make sure the entire mixture is fully blended.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Adding the Wet Ingredients to the Dry IngredientsNext, we will be adding the citric acid.  Now, in many cases, we would add the citric acid right along with the dry powdered ingredients.  However, since we added Vanilla White Color Stabilizer we are adding the citric acid last.  You see, Vanilla White is water based.  So, it will activate the mixture causing it to fizz.  We will need to add the citric acid in small increments, mixing as we add it.  So, let’s go ahead and begin adding 151 grams of citric acid.  Add a small amount, then, use your hands to mix it in.  This will prevent the mixture from fizzing to much.  Continue this process until you have added all of the citric acid.  You want to be sure that all of your ingredients are fully combined before moving on.  When you are finished mixing you should have a dough-like consistency.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Preparing the Bath CookiesChristmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Preparing the Bath Cookies

Finally, we will be forming the bath cookies with our dough.  You will first mist your mixture lightly with witch hazel an then mix.  Then, form your cookie.  This is done in the same manner you would make a sugar cookie, for example.  Simply roll the dough between your hands to create a ball.  Then, press to flatten the cookie.  The size you create is entirely up to you.  However, ours were about an inch in diameter before we flattened them.  After forming a cookie you can either place it on wax paper or a silicone baking mat like I used.  When you have used up all of your dough, all you need to do is let your bath cookies setup up for a while.  They will need to completely setup before we frost them.  I allowed mine to set for a little over an hour.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Preparing Our Whipped Frosting

Frosting your bath cookies is a fairly simple process.  It is very similar to frosting a regular cookie.  There is, however, one small difference, you will need to frost them very quickly.  Since we are using soap frosting, your frosting will setup rather quickly once the melt and pour soap is added.  So, just keep this in mind as you are working.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Preparing Your Whipped Soap BaseChristmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Preparing Your Whipped Soap Base

First, we will prepare the whipped soap base that will be used in the frosting.  You want to prepare this portion in a deep mixing bowl.  We will be using a hand mixer for the whipped soap.  For this recipe you will need to weigh out 150 grams of the whipped soap base.  Then, to the same bowl, add 15 grams of Natures Garden’s Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil along with 15 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  In addition, add 30 grams of your vegetable glycerin and 5 drops Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant from Natures Garden.  While we chose to make our frosting green, you can use another color if you would like.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Preparing Your Whipped Soap Base

Once you have all of your ingredients in the mixing bowl, we will begin whipping the soap frosting.  So, get out your hand mixer.  Then, use your hand mixer to beat the soap base to a whipped frosting consistency. Once you have your soap frosting at the correct consistency set it aside while we prepare the melt and pour soap.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Preparing Your Melt and Pour Soap Base

Now, while we do have a lovely whipped frosting that we just prepared, without the addition of melt and pour soap, the frosting will not harden.  If the frosting does not harden, we will not be able to package our bath cookies.  So, in order to harden our frosting, we will be adding some cocoa butter melt and pour soap. We will be preparing this mp soap base in a separate mixing bowl.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Preparing Your Melt and Pour Soap BaseFirst, in your empty mixing bowl, weigh out 150 grams of your cocoa butter soap base.  Then, melt the soap base in the microwave.  You will need to melt your soap base in 30 second intervals.  Melt the base only until it is in a fluid state.  Be especially careful not to over-heat the mp base.  Once your soap is melted, you are ready to move on and begin putting everything together.  As you continue to move through the next few steps you will want to work quickly.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Putting the Soap Frosting TogetherChristmas Bath Cookies Recipe: Putting the Soap Frosting Together

Now, quickly get your bowl containing the whipped soap base.  To this bowl, add your melted cocoa butter soap.  Then, use your hand held mixer to combine the two together.  You want to mix on a low speed.  Continue to mix until you have a fluffy frosting consistency again.  Then, your whipped frosting is ready.  You are ready to frost your cookies

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Frosting the Bath CookiesChristmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Frosting the Bath Cookies

Finally, we will frost our bath cookies.  You will frost your bath cookies in the same manner you would a regular edible cookie.  The only difference is that you will have to work quickly so that your frosting does not setup before you are finished.  So, frost each of your cookies with your green frosting.

Once all of your Christmas bath cookies have been frosted, it is time to add sprinkles.  Sprinkle each cookie with a dash of sprinkles.  We chose to use red, green, and white sprinkle.  While you can choose to use whichever sprinkles you would like, we prefer the type pictured to the left.  We have found that this type of colorful sprinkle does not bleed as easily onto the frosting like others will.

Christmas Bath Cookies Recipe:  Using Your Christmas Bath Cookies

Your Christmas bath cookies are very simple to use.  All you have to do is add a bath cookie or two right two your warm bath water.  Then, lay back and relax your holiday troubles away.  The bath cookies will fizz like a bath bomb and have the added benefit of cocoa butter, mango butter, and rice bran oil.  We have also added Epsom salt to help you further relax.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Tinsel Fragrance OilScented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Tinsel Fragrance Oil

This lovely Christmas fragrance oil is the perfect scent choice for creating this absolutely gorgeous shoe craft. A Pair of Tennis Shoes
Fine Glitter
Liquid Craft Glue
Foam Brush
Wax paper or Newspaper
Plastic Grocery Bags
Small Glass Bowl
Unscented Hair Spray
Long Ribbon Strands for the Shoe Strings

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Weights and Amounts of Your Ingredients

2 ounces of the Liquid Craft Glue
3-5 mL of the Tinsel Fragrance Oil
2 ounces of the Hair Spray
1 pair of Tennis Shoes
2 long Ribbons

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Preparing the Work Station

Before you begin to create this craft, you may want to prepare your work station. So, lay down either the wax paper or the newspaper on the flat surface of your work area. This will help to protect your surface top from the ingredients you need to make your homemade glitter shoes. Additionally, you should use the plastic grocery bags to protect the inside of the tennis shoes. This will prevent glitter from getting inside your shoes as you are making them.  So, you will need to put these bags into the shoes before you begin working. Also, you should remove the original shoe laces from your tennis shoes. Since we are replacing them with ribbons, you can discard these shoe laces. Now, you are ready to begin to create this homemade craft recipe!

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Choosing Your Glitter

First, you are going to need to decide on the craft glitter that you are going to use to glamorize your tennis shoes. While the color is an important choice for your glitter, the size of the glitter is even more important! We have found that glitter that is finer will stick to your shoes better than chunkier glitter. The chunkier sizes just don’t work quite as well. Since glitter that is on the chunkier side has a tendency to get sticky from the hairspray since there is more surface area for the hairspray to cling to. To be safe, you may need to try out your chosen glitter in a small area and have a back up shimmer that is a bit more fine. Also, we have found that holographic glitter sticks pretty well, too. We used holographic glitter for this project. So, before you start with the glue pick out your type of glitter to create some gorgeous shoes.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Prepare the Liquid GlueScented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Prepare the Liquid Glue

Next, you are going to need to prepare the liquid glue mixture for this diy glitter craft recipe. Obviously, the first ingredient of this mixture will be liquid craft glue. You can use any kind of craft glue that is liquid and will dry to be clear. While our shoes required about 2 ounces of liquid glue, this amount could possibly differ depending on the size shoes that you needed. If you unsure about the amount, you can start with this amount and create more of the glue mixture as you need it. So, you can add this amount of glue to a small glass bowl and move on to the next step.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Adding the Fragrance OilScented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Adding the Fragrance Oil

Now, you are going to create the mixture of liquid glue and fragrance oil. So, you will add the fragrance oil to the liquid craft glue in your glass bowl. The lovely aroma that we will use for this beautifully glittered project is the wonderful Tinsel Fragrance Oil. For this delightful craft recipe, you will need about 2- 4 mL of this scrumptious Christmas scented oil for every 2 ounces of liquid craft glue that is used for the glue mixture. Then, you will need to make sure to thoroughly mix the scented oil into the bowl of liquid glue. Next, you are going to need to use this fragrance and glue mixture to hold the glitter on your shoes.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Beginning to Add the GlitterScented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Beginning to Add the Glitter

After the liquid craft glue and fragrance has been mix up, you are going to be ready to start the process of adding glitter to each of your shoes. Now, you will be adding the glue mixture in small areas on one of the shoes. As you go along in this process, you will need to alternate between adding small sections of glue and sprinkling your glitter. This will make sure that the liquid craft glue doesn’t dry before you have a chance to sprinkle the glitter. Also, you will use the foam brush to spread a thin layer of this glue mixture onto a small section of the shoe. After the liquid glue is spread out on a small section of the tennis shoe, you are ready to move on to sprinkling the glitter!

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Adding the Shimmer and ShineScented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Adding the Shimmer and Shine

Finally, you are ready to start working with the glitter! So, grab your chosen craft glitter and get ready for the fun part. We decided to use a glamorous gold shade of glitter, but you can switch up the color if you have found your favorite bling. So, you will need to sprinkle the glitter onto this small section of glue before it dries. Before you continue, you may want to wait for this section to dry and see whether the glitter sticks well enough. Obviously, not all the glitter that you poured is going to stick to the shoe. But, you are going to want to make sure that most of your sparkles stick. You can fill in little patches that are empty, but this won’t work unless the sparkles are able to cover the shoe after touch ups. After you have added the glitter to this patch, you will need to repeat this process until both shoes are completely covered in glitter!

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Shake and Let Your Shoes Dry

Now that your shoes are covered in sparkles, it is time to let them set up before you can move on to the next step. First, you are going to need to shake your shoes lightly to remove the excess glitter. Since this glitter can be removed with a light shake or tap, its best to get rid of the shimmer that isn’t going to be permanent anyway. Now, you are going to need to let the freshly glittered shoes completely dry before moving on to the next step. So, you are going to want to let your shoes dry overnight. This amount of time will give your tennis shoes time dry and allows the glue to harden so the glitter will settle.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Prepare the Hairspray Mixture

After the glitter that you’ve sprinkled on your shoes have dried completely, you will need to prepare the hairspray for this recipe. This hairspray mixture will help seal the craft glitter to your shoe. To make this hairspray mixture you are going to need at least 2 ounces of hairspray to coat the pair of tennis shoes about the size of ours. Again, you may need more for larger shoes. So, you can add this amount of hairspray to your 2 ounce bullet bottle. After, you will need to mix in 1 mL of the Tinsel Fragrance Oil. Now, you can attach the 20/410 fine mist sprayer. You need to shake these two ingredients together to make sure that the fragrance is incorporated well. Now, your hairspray mixture will be ready to use.

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Spraying the Shoes

Next, you are going to secure the glitter on the pair of tennis shoes with the newly made hairspray mixture. Since the craft glue mixture alone is not strong enough to hold the glitter on the shoes, you will be using the hairspray mixture to add the glue’s holding ability. So, spraying these glittery shoes with your hairspray mixture will help to hold the sparkly glitter to these gorgeous shoes. So, your diy glitter craft will be even more protected and your bling will last longer. Furthermore, the additional fragrance oil in the hairspray mixture will add to the overall scent to provide you with an even greater aroma!

Scented Bling Tennis Shoes Recipe: Adding the Ribbon Shoe Laces

Finally, you are going to be adding the lovely ribbons to your homemade craft. While you could use your regular, old shoe strings, the ribbon is just so much prettier! These ribbons add to the beauty of the shimmery glitter and create a gorgeous pair of shoes. Now, before you add these ribbons to your tennis shoes you need to make sure that your shoes are dry from spraying the hairspray mixture. Then, you can thread your two ribbons through each of the tennis shoes. After you finish putting in the laces your homemade glitter craft will be complete! Whether you use these shoes as a scented room decoration or wear these blingy beautifies around, we hope that you enjoy your finished shoe recipe.

The wonderful aroma of mulled apple cider, fresh pineapple, and orange zests surrounded with spicy cinnamon and cloves. Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Weights and Amounts of Ingredients

1 ounce of the Whole Cloves
41 grams of the Christmas Wassail Fragrance Oil
1 ounce of the Orange Peel Cut and Sifted
24 pieces of the Cinnamon Sticks
1 ounce of the Juniper Berries

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Clean and Prepare Work Station

Before you get started on this recipe, you should clean and prepare the area that you are going to be working in. This will prevent any specs of dirt from accidentally getting into the recipe and it will make the entire process more enjoyable for you. First, cleaning and sanitizing the equipment you need and tidying the work space will keep your projects clean and beautiful. Nothing is worse than finding a spec in your design that you didn’t catch before your wax cooled. Plus, having everything ready to go will make your experience more enjoyable and stress-free! This way you can just focus on the fun of crafting.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Creating the Double Boiler

A double boiler is the perfect way to gently heat your ingredients and this method will minimize the risk of scorching your wax. If you don’t know how to create a double boiler, then we will walk you through the simple steps! Since you are melting wax, you can use the pouring pot to hold your melting ingredients. Then, you will want to have a larger pot that the pouring pot can easily fit into with extra room on the sides. Next, add enough water to the larger pot that it touches the pouring pot, but won’t boil over. After, place the pouring pot into the larger pot. Then, add the larger pot to the stove and boil the water.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe Measure the Necessary HerbsRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Measure the Necessary Herbs

First, you are going to want to prepare the various herbs that this recipe will need. These herbs are perfect for adding to the appearance of these melts. You are going to be working with four different herbs in this recipe.  Not only will you need to prepare a mixture of herbs for the middle of the melts, but you will need to get the cinnamon sticks ready for the top of the melts. So, the two herb preparations will be needed at different steps in the process.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Prepare the Herb Mixture

You will need to prepare the mixture of herbs that will be added to the wax melts. So, take a bowl and the scale. Then, weigh out about an ounce of juniper berries, orange peel cut and sifted, and whole cloves each. After, mix these herbs together and set this bowl aside. Later, these herbs will be added to the mold cavities with the wax to create your homemade wax tarts.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Prepare the Cinnamon Sticks

Separate from the bowl of herbs, you are going to want to prepare the cinnamon sticks. You are going to need twenty-four pieces in total. However, you will be breaking each cinnamon stick into smaller bits, so you won’t need a whole lot. You can get about 2-3 pieces from each individual cinnamon stick. You should look at the size of the mold’s cavities and make sure your pieces are small enough to fit on top. Then, set these cinnamon stick pieces aside.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melting the Candle WaxRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melting the Candle Wax

Next, you are going to prepare the Pillar of Bliss Wax for these homemade rustic wax tarts. So, take the pouring pot and weigh out about 345 grams of the wax into it. After, you will need to melt the wax completely. So, create your double boiler and heat the pillar of bliss wax. You will want to set the heat to a make sure that the water is boiling. So, you won’t need to turn the stove temperature all the way up. Also, make sure that you stir the wax to help prevent burning.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe Adding in the Fragrance OilRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding in the Fragrance Oil

Once all of the wax melts, you can remove the pouring pot from the heat. Then, you will add a thermometer to the pouring pot. This is to make sure that the wax isn’t too hot when you add the fragrance oil. If it is too hot, then the wax could burn off notes of your fragrance oil. Obviously, you don’t want to ruin this delightful Christmas spice aroma. So, make sure the thermometer is at about 180 degrees Fahrenheit before you add the fragrance. After you reach the right temperature you can pour in 41 grams of the Christmas Wassail Fragrance Oil and stir the wax to incorporate the scented oil.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Herbs to the MoldRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Herbs to the Mold

Before you are able to pour your melted wax, you are going to add some herbs to the mold. So, you will need to retrieve the small bowl that contains the mixture of juniper berries, orange peel c/s, and whole clove. However, you will not need the cinnamon sticks quite yet. So, leave this fourth herb off to the side. Now add a bit of this mixed herb mixture into each of the twenty-four cavities. We will not need this herb mixture later, so be sure to use it all in this step. You can go back and fill in cavities that don’t have as much as others.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Pouring the WaxRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Pouring the Wax

Now, you are ready to pour the melted Pillar of Bliss Wax into the mold. So, grab your scented wax and begin pouring your wax over the herbs. You will want to fill each of the twenty-four cavities all of the way up. Be careful not to overflow, but you will want to move to the next step quickly. In the next step you will want the wax to still be liquid in the molds. So, try your best to move quickly on to the next step.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Cinnamon SticksRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Adding the Cinnamon Sticks

Now, you are going to add the pieces of cinnamon sticks to the top of the wax melts. You are going to want to move quickly before the tarts begin to set up. If not, you may not be able to get the cinnamon sticks to stay put. Also, we recommend sticking one portion of the herb into the wax melt and have the other part of the cinnamon stick poking out above the wax tart. This way the cinnamon stick can be seen from the top and adds to the rustic charm of this lovely recipe.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Removing from the MoldRustic Wax Melts Recipe: Removing from the Mold

As your pillar of bliss tarts begin to set up, you will start to see how each wax melt will look. While these tarts all include the same ingredients, each one is unique and special, like a snowflake. Once the wax cools completely the wax won’t be transparent anymore, so only the herbs on top will be seen. This will leave you with just a few of these herbs poking through. This is what gives this recipe the gorgeous rustic appearance. Finally, when the wax has completely solidified you are ready to pop the wax melts out of their molds.

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Curing Before Use

Although you may be anxious and excited to test out your finished product, those extra few days of curing is exactly what your wax tarts need to be at their best. You can technically use your creation immediately, as there is nothing wrong with them. However, the scent isn’t going to be right until it has a chance to cure! While your wax tarts are finished, you won’t get the absolute best results unless you give the product time to cure. It super easy to do and only takes a couple days. Just let your wax melts sit undisturbed as the fragrance oil settles in your creation. After, you will be so glad that you waited!

Rustic Wax Melts Recipe: Melted Snowman

One adorable thing that we noticed about this Christmas craft recipe is that it looks like a melted snowman! The cinnamon stick looks like a stick arm. Also, the juniper berries look like the coal for the buttons, mouth, and eyes. Plus, the orange peel looks like the carrot nose! I remember making snowmen with my little brother. We would make our own so we could see which one was better, but we’d end up helping each other anyway. It was always a great way to spend a snow day. While nobody is happy to see their snowman disappear, it’s really all about the fun time that you had creating your snow friend. Pinecone Christmas Ornaments RecipePinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe

The best part of Christmas is family, nothing is better than being together with all your loved ones. One fun way that you can spend this time is by creating fun crafts together! We at Natures Garden have created a holiday recipe that is easy and fun for the whole family. While parent supervision is necessary for the glue gun, the Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe is a simple recipe that kids can help make, too.

When I was younger, my grandma would have each of her grandchildren make and sign an ornament for her Christmas Tree. It was one of my favorite parts of the holidays. Not only is this ornament easy enough for kids, but this elegant, rustic design is perfect for decorating a unique and gorgeous Christmas tree. Plus, you can all enjoy decorating the tree after the pine cone ornaments are complete. Regardless of how you spend your holidays this year, this simple and lovely ornament is perfect for decorating and bringing the family together!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Gathering Your Pinecones

Of course, you can try to find some unscented, decorative pine cones at a store. But, it would certainly be more fun to go out and gather this part of the craft on your own. This way you have the chance to find the perfect pine cone for your ornament. This idea is especially great for kids that want to create this craft. Not only is this idea fun for kids, but it can certainly save you money from overpriced, decorative pine cones. That’s one of the beautiful things about creating pine cone ornaments, you can use the same pine cones from your yard!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Preparing the Work Area

After you have gathered all of your ingredients you can start preparing your work station. All you are going to need is a clean, flat area to create your ornament, but you are going to want to lay down something to catch the mess. So, grab either some wax paper or an old newspaper to cover your counter top. You are going to want to lay this down over your work area before you get started. This will protect the counter top from the glue and the fragrance oil. Another bonus is that laying this down will make clean up so much easier. So, you are not going to want to skip this step.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Creating the Scented Pinecone

We are going to start off by creating the pine cone portion of this recipe. Not only will this pretty pine cone ornament use the gold glitter, but this part of the holiday craft will be scented with the perfect Christmas scent, Sleigh Ride Fragrance Oil. It is a wonderful blend of pine, apples and cinnamon, bayberry, holly, and a hint of vanilla. So, let’s get started!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Measuring the Liquid GluePinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Measuring the Liquid Glue

Now, we are ready to begin creating these simple Christmas ornaments. You are going to want to begin by measuring the liquid craft glue. We chose to use Elmer’s glue in our project, but any liquid craft glue that dries clear will be perfect! So, portion out about an ounce of glue into a small, glass bowl. This amount may vary slightly depending on the size of both your pine cones and plastic Easter eggs, but this is a good amount to start off with. If you happen to run out before you finish your pine cones, then you can make more later.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding the Fragrance OilPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding the Fragrance Oil

Next, you are going to be adding in the wonderful fragrance oil. We chose to use our original Sleigh Ride Fragrance Oil because it is a strong scent that is perfect for Christmas time. Plus, this aroma is amazing for creating homemade room scents, as it is a strong aroma. So, grab this fragrance oil and the ounce of liquid glue. You are going to add about 1-2 mL of Sleigh Ride Fragrance Oil to the glue, which you can measure using a disposable pipette. Then, mix thoroughly to incorporate the scent into the glue.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding the Scented GluePinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding the Scented Glue

Now, you are going to take your pine cones and coat the whole thing in the Sleigh Ride scented glue mixture! Although only the edges will have glitter added, you can use the glue everywhere to create a stronger scent for your home this season! The more your add, the stronger the fragrance will be in your home. Just make sure that you create enough to coat the edges and remember that you can mix up more scented glue as you need it. After your pine cone has been covered well, you are ready to move on to the next step of adding the glitter.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Rolling in the GlitterPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Rolling in the Glitter

After your liquid glue has dried we are ready for the glitter! Just sprinkle an amount of this gorgeous gold glitter on your protected work area and roll your pine cones in it. The goal for this method is to cover the outer edges of the pine cone and add some lovely shimmer. Although we did add glue to places that don’t have glitter, we didn’t necessarily waste any of the glue. This scented glue will dry clear and add to the aroma of the overall recipe. So, the extra glue will create a stronger room scenting product for your Christmas Tree!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Preparing the Plastic Easter Eggs

Now, you are ready for the second part of this lovely Christmas craft! While the freshly glittered and scented pine cones are drying, you can prepare the other half of this diy Christmas ornament. You will need to take the smaller halves of the plastic Easter eggs and completely cover them with gold glitter!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding Glue to the Plastic Easter EggsPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Adding Glue to the Plastic Easter Eggs

Now, you are going to get the plastic Easter eggs ready for the ornament. You are only going to be using the smaller halves of the plastic eggs for these diy pine cone christmas tree ornaments. So, take these halves of the plastic eggs and cover them in unscented glue. You can wipe out and re-add the liquid glue to the same small bowl. Then, just roll or brush the glue onto each of the plastic eggs. After, set these plastic eggs some where that they can be sprinkled with glitter without making a big mess, we chose to use a large glass bowl.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Pour on the Gold GlitterPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Pour on the Gold Glitter

Next, you are going to add the gold craft glitter. Make sure that you move fast enough that the liquid glue doesn’t dry before you’re ready, because you are going to want to have a nice, even coat of glitter. Once you are ready, simply pour the gold glitter on the glue-coated plastic eggs until they have a nice layer of sparkles. Later, these beautiful, glittery plastic eggs will be added to the bottom of the pine cones!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe After the Plastic Easter Eggs DryPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe After the Plastic Easter Eggs Dry

After the plastic eggs have been coated in glitter, just leave them to dry in their place. You are going to want to wait until both the pine cones and the plastic Easter eggs have dried completely. Depending on how thick your coat of glue was, this could take some time before you are ready to move on to the next step. But, it is worth the wait because nobody wants to smudge their glitter! So, take a break and let the glitter get settled as the glue dries.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Finishing Up the Ornament

Now that both halves of your homemade Christmas ornaments have been created, it’s time to put it altogether. So, the next part of this blog will be combining the pieces and putting the finishing touches on your gorgeous holiday decorations.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Gluing the Plastic EggPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Gluing the Plastic Egg

Once both the plastic Easter eggs and the pine cones have completely dried, you are ready to combine the two finished pieces. You will be hot gluing the plastic Easter eggs to the bottom of each of the pine cones. So, you are going to want to start off by warming up your hot glue gun. After the glue gun is ready, you will add a line of glue to the inner perimeter of one of the plastic eggs. Quickly, move on to the next step before the glue dries.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Combining the Plastic Easter Eggs with the PineconesPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Combining the Plastic Easter Eggs with the Pinecones

Finally, you are ready to combine the two pieces of your diy ornament. This step will be pretty simple, but you need to be gentle to make sure your don’t accidentally remove the glitter. So, place your plastic egg half over the bottom of your pine cone. Then, hold the two pieces together for a few moments so the hot glue has an opportunity to dry. Then, repeat the gluing and combining steps with each of the remaining pine cones. Together, the pine cone and the small, plastic egg halves will create a wonderful, sparkly ornament for your Christmas Tree!

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Hanging Your DIY Christmas Tree OrnamentsPinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Hanging Your DIY Christmas Tree Ornaments

Now that your homemade ornament has both its halves put together, you need to get your craft ready to hang up on the Christmas tree! So, grab either the twine or the ribbon and let’s get started. Since we chose to use the twine, we will refer to it as such during this step. Just know that you will be using the hanging device that you chose. Now, you can take your nearly finished ornament and loop the twine around the top of the pine cone. Make sure to secure the twine around the ornament. Then, make a smaller loop at the top of the twine to make sure your new Christmas decorations can be hung up on the tree this year.

Pinecone Christmas Ornaments Recipe Sleigh Ride

Not only is creating some homemade Christmas crafts with our Sleigh Ride Fragrance Oil a fun way to celebrate this season, but taking an actual Sleigh Ride would be absolutely perfect. Nothing compares to riding on a horse drawn sleigh through the snow on a gorgeous winter day. Every year my hometown would have a Christmas festival with crafts in the library, lights down main street, hot chocolate, and the beautiful horse-drawn sleigh. There was nothing more magical than a ride in the sleigh with a warm hot chocolate and light, fluffy snow drifting from above. This lovely tradition is just one of the many that makes Christmas so wonderful!

Santa Hat Candle RecipeSanta Hat Candle Recipe

Everyone knows recognizes jolly ole Saint Nick in his festive red suit, eating those yummy snacks we leave each year.  We all know he loves his cookies.  So, here at Natures Garden, we were inspired by both Santa’s wardrobe and those delicious treats.  This cute candle idea that you can give as gift or to decorate your home this holiday season.  Our Santa Hat Candle Recipe also smells delicious.  It just so happens to use our Santa Snack Fragrance Oil.

Santa Hat Candle Recipe Ingredients Needed From Natures Garden:

Santa Hat Candle Recipe Other Ingredients Needed:

Scale
Spoon
Mixing Bowl
Ziplock Bag or Decorating Bag
Scissors
Pots (For Double Boiler)

Santa Hat Candle RecipeSanta Hat Candle Recipe Creating the Cupcake Bases:

First, you will need the cupcake mold.  In addition, will need two votive wick pins.  Place one wick pin in the center of each cavity of the cupcake mold. Use a scale to weigh out 7 ounces of Natures Garden’s Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax.   Next, melt the wax using a double boiler method to 195 degrees as we described in one of our candle classes.

For the cupcake base you will need to include 2 drops of brown liquid candle dye.  In addition, add 1 drop of our spectrum black liquid candle dye.  Stir to fully incorporate the color.  When the Pillar of Bliss wax has cooled to about 180 degrees you can go ahead and add your fragrance oil.  Use your scale to weigh out and add 0.7 ounces of Santa Snacks Fragrance Oil.  Stir thoroughly to  blend the fragrance oil with the wax.  When the temperature reaches 140 degrees, pour the wax into the cupcake Mold Market mold.  The temperature is very important because you do not want to melt the mold.  Let the cupcake bases to set up. Then, remove them from the molds once they harden.

Santa Hat Candle RecipeSanta Hat Candle Recipe Separating and Whipping the Wax:

Next we will be created the part of the candle that looks like Santa’s Hat.  We will be using Natures Garden’s Joy Wax.  Since this is a container wax, it is softer and also easy to whip and pipe.  Using a double boiler, weigh our and melt 10 ounces of Joy Wax. When your wax reaches 200 degrees, remove 3 ounces of wax.  Put this wax in a separate, small mixing bowl.  We will be using this white portion of wax for the white parts of the Santa hat. Let the temperature drop to about 175 degrees, before adding 0.3 ounces of Santa Snacks Fragrance Oil.

Allow the wax to set up slightly.  You want the wax to be at a slush consistency.  Whip the wax with a spoon or fork.  Put the wax on top of the base of each cupcake.  You want it to look like the white portion of Santa’s hat.  However, you should save about ½ ounce of wax. This waxs will used for the two white balls that go on the top of each Santa hat.  Set the remaining wax aside, we will come back to it.

Santa Hat Candle RecipeSanta Hat Candle Recipe Piping the Wax:

The remaining Joy Wax will be colored red.  We will use it in the red part of the Santa hats.  Allow the remaining wax to reach 200 degrees.  Add 4 drops of Spectrum Liquid Red Candle Dye.  Also, use a toothpick to add a small amount of black liquid candle dye. Use a mixing spoon to blend the colorant in with the candle wax.  Let the temperature of the Joy Wax to drop to 175 degrees before adding 0.7 ounces of Santa’s Snacks Fragrance Oil.  Stir well to blend.

Now, we will be piping the wax.  You will need a decorating bag or a ziplock bag. Once the wax has a frosting like consistency, place it in a ziplock bag. Then, cut the corner of the bag so you can pipe the wax.  Pipe the wax in a circular motion on top of the cupcake.  You want the wax to look like Santa’s hat, sort of a triangle shape.  This means wider at the base, and narrower going up.

Santa Hat Candle RecipeSanta Hat Candle Recipe the Finishing Touches:

For the finally part you will need to wear gloves.  Using the white wax you saved earlie, create two white balls by rolling it in the palms of your hands. Place these white balls on top of the red wax. Once the candles have set up, remove the wick pins and thread the wick through the candle.  Your candles can now be used or given as Christmas gifts to your family and friends.

Reindeer Poo Candle RecipeReindeer Poo Candle Recipe

It’s that time of year, the holidays are upon us.  Here at Natures Garden we decided to come up with a fun candle recipe using one of our customers’ favorite scents, Reindeer Poo.  This recipe uses our sustainable palm wax, whipped Joy Wax, and of course our Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  We feel even Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Santa’s reindeer will get a chuckle out of this fun scented Reindeer Poo candle recipe.

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Ingredient Available at Natures Garden

Palm Container Wax
Joy Wax- 1 SLAB
Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye- Blue 1oz.
Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye- BROWN 1oz.
Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil
Deer and Santa Embed Mold
CD Candle Wicks
POURING POT
Thermometer
Gloves

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Other Ingredients Needed

16 oz. Glass Apothecary Jar
Scale
Mixing Spoons
Hot Glue Gun
Toothpicks
Pots- These will be used for your double boiler.

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Prepare the Reindeer EmbedsReindeer Poo Candle Recipe Prepare the Embeds

First, we will prepare the reindeer embeds.  These will later be placed on the top of the candle.  You will need palm wax, brown liquid candle dye, Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil, the Santa and Deer Embed Mold, your scale, and a toothpick.  Weigh out 1 oz of Natures Garden’s sustainable palm container wax.  Melt the palm wax to 210 degrees Fahrenheit.  Next, add 0.1 ounces of Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  Also, use a toothpick to add the brown candle colorant.  Simply dip the toothpick in the brown dye and then into your candle wax.  Finally, mix well to incorporate the brown colorant.  Normally you would want to pour this wax at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  However, since we are pouring into a plastic mold, pouring at that temperature would likely cause the mold to melt.  So, pour the wax at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Prepare the Poo EmbedsNow, we will be preparing the poo that will also go on the top of the candle.  For these, we found our Joy Wax works best.  We did not add fragrance oil to them.  You will want to make five or six brown balls of poo.  Weigh out 1/2 ounce of Joy Candle Wax.  Melt the wax to 200 degrees Fahrenheit using a double boiler.  Then, use another toothpick to add a tiny bit of brown candle dye.  Once again, mix to blend the color.  Allow the wax to harden a bit.  While wearing gloves, roll small amounts of the wax in the palms of your hands, creating five or six small balls.   You will set these aside for later along with the reindeer embeds.

Next, we will be creating the blue part of the candle.  Prior to creating this portion, or while you are waiting for your wax to melt, use your hot glue gun to adhere to wick to the bottom of the apothecary jar.  Make sure the candle wicks are straight and centered.  Using a double boiler, melt 16 ounces of the palm container wax to 210 degrees Fahrenheit.  Once melted, in the same manner you did before, use a toothpick to add a small amount of blue liquid candle dye.  Then, at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit, add 1.5 ounces of Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  Mix well.  You will want to work quickly so you can pour the palm wax at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  By pouring the wax at a high temperature the crystals will be able to form nicely in the wax.  Once the palm wax has set up move to the next step.

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Prepare the Joy WaxReindeer Poo Candle Recipe Prepare the Joy Wax Portion of the Candle

Now, we will be preparing the snow that rests on the top of the palm wax candle.  For this part, we will be using Joy Wax.  Once again, you will need you scale.  Weigh out 3 ounces of Joy Candle Wax.  We will not be adding color to this part of the candle.  So, once your wax reaches 170 degrees go ahead and add your fragrance oil.  Add 0.3 ounces of Reindeer Poo scent and mix to blend the fragrance.  Allow the wax to set up a bit.  We will be whipping the wax therefore, you want it to have a slush-like consistency.  Once it reaches this state, use a spoon to whip the wax.  Then, place it on top of the blue palm wax.  You want it to look like a blanket of snow.  Move quickly to the next step while the wax is still soft.

Reindeer Poo Candle Recipe Add the EmbedsReindeer Poo Candle Recipe Add the Finishing Touches

Add two of the reindeer embed you created earlier.  These should be placed on top of the white wax so they are slightly sinking in.  You do not want to push them in completely, but you do want to use the Joy Wax to hold them in place.  Then, do the same with the brown wax balls you created earlier.  Once you have added these finishing touches, your candle is ready to use!
