Wax Melts Recipe Wax Melts Recipe

This Wax Melts Recipe by Natures Garden is a simple and adorable way to create wax melts! We all know that wax melts are a pretty convenient way to scent a home without using candles. While candles are always great, sometimes it is much easier to simply add a wax melt to your warmer and just let the fragrance oil fill your home. But, many of these wax melts are plain, boring cubes. While plain wax melts still can carry some amazing scents for your home, they aren’t much to look at. Sometimes you just need something cute and pretty to give yourself a break. So, we created these strawberries and cream cookie shaped wax melts. They are easy to create and will make using a wax melter even more fun than before!

90 grams Joy Wax
90 grams Pillar of Bliss Wax
A Small Amount of a Red Color Block
18 grams of the Strawberries and Cream Fragrance Oil

Wax Melts Recipe Prepare Your Work Area

Before you begin you will want to make a few preparations to ensure that your process is as problem free as possible. When you are creating anything, you will want to make sure that the area you are working in is safe for both yourself and your product. This means you should make sure that everything other than your ingredients and supplies have been cleaned up. This will make sure that there is nothing in your work space that could fall over or hinder your crafting in any way.

Also, you will want to sanitize all of the supplies that you need for this craft. No one wants dirt and filth in their candle wax, so it is a great idea to make sure that nothing will be able to get into your wax. Not only do you need to clean your countertop, pouring pot, and bowls, but you will need to clean the molds, spoons, and thermometer, too. This will prevent anything from sticking to a utensil as you work. It could be very easy to not notice a speck of dirt on your spatula until it is swimming in your melted wax, which can be a pain to remove. Plus, some may even sneak by and make it into your final product. So, just get cleaned up before you begin working!

Wax Melts Recipe Creating the Double Boiler

Additionally, you will want to know how to create a double boiler for this recipe. Knowing how to do this is important because it will help to prevent your ingredients from burning. When you don’t use this method, your wax can get too hot too quickly and could scorch before you even notice. However, this method uses boiling water to keep the heat at a level where the wax will melt and not get too hot.

So, you will be using a pouring pot and a regular pot for creating this device. Take the pouring pot and make sure that it will fit comfortably inside the other pot with room on either side. Now, remove your pouring pot and add about an inch of water to the regular pot. You will need to place your pouring pot into the water. Later, you will add heat to get the pot of water. Then, you will add your container candle wax to your pouring pot. Finally, your pouring pot will be placed into the pan containing the water. You may add or pour out water to get the right level for your specific pot size, just make sure that that water is touching the bottom of the pouring pot.

Wax Melts Recipe Creating the Vanilla Wafers Portion

First, we will be creating the vanilla wafer cookies portion of this recipe. This portion will end up looking like a bunch of pink wafer cookies and will be used to create the cookie sandwich later on. After, you will be setting these pink, wax wafers aside as you make the filling to finish off your strawberries and cream cookie wax melts.

Wax Melts Recipe Melting the Pillar of Bliss WaxWax Melts Recipe Melting the Pillar of Bliss Wax

Now, you will be using the Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax for your vanilla wafers. So, weigh out 90 grams of the Pillar of Bliss Wax and transfer it into your pouring pot. Set the wax filled pouring pot back into the regular pot of water. Turn on your stove top and get your water to start boiling. Melt the wax and bring the temperature to 195 degrees. As you are heating make sure to occasionally stir the wax to further prevent burning. After all the wax has melted you can move on to the next step.

Wax Melts Recipe Adding Color to the Pillar of Bliss Candle WaxWax Melts Recipe Adding Color to the Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax

Next, you are going to add the color to the melted wax. You will want to add the candle colorant at 195 degrees to ensure it will mix full into the wax. So, cut off a tiny piece of your color block and add it to the melted wax. Make sure not to start off with too much as you will not be able to remove the color once it has melted and been fully incorporated. Once you have added the red color block, stir to fully disperse the candle colorant. Further, you will want to test the color of your wax before you move on. You can easily test the wax color to see if it’s going to be right before it all sets up. So, take a spoon and scoop up a tiny bit of the colored wax. Now, add a drip of the wax to a white paper plate, napkin, or another white disposable object. It shouldn’t take long to dry, but once it does you will be able to see the color your wax will be after it dries. After, you can add more and retest if you feel like the color you have is not quite right.

Next, you are going to add fragrance to the wax and pour it into your molds. First, you are going add the fragrance oil to your melted wax. Now, you can turn off your stove top and allow the wax temperature to drop to 180 degrees. Then, weigh out 9 grams of the Strawberries and Cream Fragrance Oil and add it to the pink colored wax. Make sure to mix well to incorporate the scent evenly.  Second, you will be pouring the wax into your molds. You will want to pour the wax around 165 degrees. Finally, allow the cookie portion of your melt to setup.

Wax Melts Recipe Removing the Wafers From the MoldsWax Melts Recipe Removing the Wafers From the Molds

Now, are going to finish up the first portion of your craft. So, once all of your wax wafers to fully set up remove all of the wafers from the vanilla wafer mold. After all of your wafers are removed from the mold you will want to set these pink wafers aside until it is time to assemble the final cookie sandwich wax melts.

Wax Melts Recipe Creating the Whipped Filling Portion

Next, we will be creating the filling portion of your wax melt cookie. This wax will be whipped and used to fill the center of the cookie. So, this part will be sandwiched between two of the pink vanilla wafers we have already created. After this portion is complete it will be time to assemble the wax melt cookie.

Wax Melts Recipe Melting the Joy Wax for the FillingWax Melts Recipe Melting the Joy Wax for the Filling

First, you are going to be melting the Joy Wax. You are going to want to have your pouring pot completely cleaned out. Otherwise, your filling will have a pink hue, which is not what we want. Then, add 90 grams of your Joy Candle Wax to the cleaned pouring pot. Melt this the same way that you melted the other wax for the wafers, which means you will need to use a double boiler. Once the wax has melted you will be adding 9 grams of the Strawberries and Cream Fragrance Oil. However, you will not be adding any color blocks or pigments to this portion.

Wax Melts Recipe Whip the Candle WaxWax Melts Recipe Whip the Candle Wax

Next, you are going to be whipping the Joy Wax. So, transfer your uncolored wax to a small mixing bowl. While you can keep the wax in the pouring pot, it will be easier for you to whip the wax in a shallow bowl. In addition, it will cool a bit faster. As the Joy Wax is beginning to get thicker you will want to whip the wax with a spoon or rubber spatula. Keep whipping until the wax reaches a consistency of whipped cream. After, you are ready for the next step.

Wax Melts Recipe Add the Filling to the WafersWax Melts Recipe Add the Filling to the Wafers

Finally, you are going to be assembling the cookie wax melts. So, retrieve your pink vanilla wafers and lay them in your work space. Take six of these pink wafers and lay them with their flat side facing up. These will be the bottoms of your strawberries and cream cookie shaped wax melts and the other six wafers will be the tops of the cookie.

Now, you will be adding the filling and will need to work quickly to make sure the top wafer cookie sticks to the wax filling. So, take a scoop of the wax and add it to one of your six bottom cookies. Quickly, take a top cookie and firmly place this on top of the filling you just added. Now, you have one completed wax tart cookie! You will need to repeat this filling process for your five other wax cookies. After, you will need to let the six cookie sandwiches set up completely, but for the most part, your project is complete!

Wax Melts Recipe Finishing Up and Using the Wax Melt Cookies

Now, you are almost ready to use your wax melts! All you will need to do now is to wait a few days for your wax melts to cure completely. Just like candles, the wax will need to rest a few days to be able to perform its best. Waiting a few days will provide you with a better scent when you add them to your wax tart warmers. Also, be sure to keep them covered while they are curing. While it may drive you crazy to have to wait for these little cuties, it will all be worth it in the end!

After, you are finally ready to use your wax melts! Not only are these little cookies super cute, but they are super easy to use, too. Simply take one of your strawberries and cream cookie wax melts and add it to your wax tart warmer. In no time at all, you will be surrounded by the sweet scent of our lovely Strawberries and Cream Fragrance Oil. We hope that you will enjoy this wax melts recipe!

So, show your dad that you care by giving him a great product that he will enjoy and can use to truly care for his beard.

Beard Balm Recipe Interesting Facts About Beards

Throughout time the general opinions and beliefs about a man’s beard changed so much. Some have viewed this facial hair as useless or even a burden, while others have found beards to be a sign of social status, power, and wisdom. While many of these beliefs belong to cultures that have been long over, it is very interesting to know the differing opinions, regardless. So, I want to share a few of the most interesting opinions of beards that have been held over time. Also, those that are interested and would like to see more super cool facts about beards can check out the  “50 Beard Facts – What Science And History Has To Say About Beards” article. Hope you as much fun as we have with these facts as we have!

Beard Balm Recipe Facts About Beards Throughout Time

Over time, there have been quite a few cultures that have found beards to display dignity, power, and wisdom. Many ancient philosophers have linked beards to the soul and to their wisdom. In ancient Egypt, upper-class males would dye their beards gold to display power and wealth. Also, kings were known to add three beard hairs to a wax seal to provide authenticity. Otto the Great would swear on his beard over anything serious. Further, men in the middle ages saw touching another man’s beard to be very disrespectful, which would result in a duel.

While many found beards to be important, other influential people throughout time have found a beard to be more negative. At one point a leader named Peter the Great found beards to be useless and would tax anyone that wished to grow one. Another man, Alexander the Great, viewed beards as a hindrance as they could be grabbed during hand to hand combat. Further, beards have been prohibited in the US military around the World War I area.

More recently, studies have been done that found that beards can be related to attractiveness. In fact, a 2012 study looked at male attractiveness and found that women viewed men with beards as more aggressive, older, and better off than a clean shaven man. Not only are beards considered to be attractive, but they block a lot of the harmful UV light rays produced by the sun and can filter things like pollen or dust out of the air you breathe. Sounds to me like beards are pretty useful after all!

Beard Balm Recipe Clean and Sanitize

Before you begin, make sure that your instruments and work space are both ready to go. First, tidy up your work area and make sure you have enough room to complete this craft. Also, clear off at least one burner of your stove top. This will help to make sure that nothing falls over during this process and that you have plenty of work space. Second, sanitize all of the equipment you will need for this beard balm recipe. Not only will having everything nearby and ready make this craft quicker, but cleaning your equipment prevents you from contaminating your beard balm during the process. Plus, any debris that gets into your balm would go right into a respectable beard and nobody wants that. So, act responsibly and be prepared by sanitizing everything before you work.

Beard Balm Recipe Creating the Double Boiler

Also, you will want to be able to create a double boiler for this recipe. Since many kinds of oils can be easily scorched under high heat, a double boiler is very important to protect these essential ingredients. The boiling water used in this device will maintain a more consistent heat that is not too much for your oils, but will be hot enough to melt your wax and butters. So, you can melt everything you need to without the risk of burning the ingredients.

If you are unsure of what we mean by double boiler, we will explain exactly how to create this heating device.

So, take your two differently sized pots. The larger pot will be directly on the stove top, while the smaller one will be placed inside of the larger pot. Now, take your larger pot and add about an inch or two of water. In order to be sure we have the right amount of water, you should place the small pot inside the water of the large pot. Check the water level high enough that it is touching the bottom of the small pot. However, if the water is high enough that it could potentially boil over into the small pot, reduce the amount of water. You will not want any water to get into your oils. Then, the smaller pot will hold your ingredients for melting. Now you are ready to heat on the stove.

Beard Balm Recipe Amazing Benefits of the Oils and Butters We Used in this Recipe

These amazing beard oils include; Sweet Almond Oil, Lanolin Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, and Olive Oil Pomace. First, we used Shea Butter as it has a plethora of great properties for your facial hair. Not only does this butter help repair damaged hair and soften your beard, but it can be used to quench the skin below. Thus, shea butter reduces beard dandruff and reduces itchiness of your beard skin. Next, we used Jojoba Oil to further qualm dry skin. Since this oil is very similar to the natural oils that face skin produces on its own, it is perfect for moisturizing the skin on your face.

Also, Olive Oil Pomace helps repair the hair follicles and will leave your hair with a nice, clean shine.  Further, Sweet Almond Oil was added to calm agitated or ingrown hairs as it will improve circulation to the areas. Lastly, Lanolin was used to protect your beard skin from dryness or burns. Altogether these oils create a balm that could improve even the most scraggly beard.

Beard Balm Recipe Melting Your Butters and OilsBeard Balm Recipe Melting Your Necessary Butters and Oils

First, you are going to be preparing the oils and butters needed to for the Beard Balm recipe. So, weigh out 102 grams of the White Beeswax, 10 grams of the Lanolin, 27 grams of the Olive Oil Pomace, 57 grams of the Sweet Almond Oil, 27 grams of the Cocoa Butter Golden Natural, 84 grams of the Shea Butter, 27 grams of the Jojoba Oil, and 57 grams of the Sesame Seed Oil into one of your medium sized mixing bowls. Then, transfer these facial hair nourishing ingredients to the smaller pot of your double boiler. Also, be sure to mix these melting ingredients occasionally as they melt to make sure they melt without burning.

Beard Balm Recipe Adding the Vitamin E and Essential OilsBeard Balm Recipe Adding the Vitamin E and Essential Oils to the Mixture

Now, we are going to be adding a few more ingredients to the mixture of melted butters and oils. Take your smaller sized bowl and tare this bowl’s weight from the scale. Now, weigh 4 grams of the Pure Vitamin E Oil and 4 grams of the Cedarwood Virginiana Essential into this smaller bowl.

Next, you will be adding this mixture to the melted oils and butters. After your ingredients in the double boiler have entirely melted, transfer them back into the medium sized mixing bowl. Finally, add the Vitamin E Oil and Essential Oil mixture to the mixing bowl and stir everything together well. Evenly mix everything together to make sure that it all has been incorporated.

Beard Balm Recipe Pouring the Balm into the Tins Beard Balm Recipe Pouring the Balm into the Beard Balm Tins

Now, you are ready to package your product. So, pour the finished beard balm mixture into your round 4 oz. tins. Be slow as you pour your mixture into their containers. While you want to move quick enough to pour everything before the mixture sets up in the bowl, you want to attempt to prevent air bubbles. Pour slow enough that no air bubbles get trapped under the surface, but don’t take all day. Also, after you have filled your tins, very gently tap them on the top of your countertop to remove any air bubbles that may have gotten trapped. Doing this makes sure that all of your beard balm fits in the tins and that you don’t end up with unsightly air pockets. So, it prevents wasting any seemingly extra beard balm that won’t fit in the tins.

Beard Balm Recipe Finishing Up and Ready to UseBeard Balm Recipe Finishing Up the Balm

Finally, your beard balm is so close to being finished! In fact, these tins of balm will be ready to use right after it sets up. Simply let your mixture cool and harden in the tins. You really don’t have to do anything for this part. Just make sure that the beard balm has entirely set up before you move the tins or attempt to use the finished product. If you don’t wait long enough before moving it, the beard balm may spill out or it may not setup evenly. While the balm will be perfectly fine to use, the product will not look as nice for gifting if you make them too early. However, once it has entirely set up your beard balm is ready for you to use right away!

Beard Balm Recipe Using Your Completed Beard Balm

Further, those that are unsure of how to apply Beard Balm can get some simple tips on usage right here! Once you know what you’re doing, application is very simple! First, wash your beard with soap and dry it off completely to make sure the oils will be able to act properly with the hair. Then, use your fingers to scoop out a bit of your beard balm and rub it between your hands. Now, run your hands through your beard. Make sure to rub the balm into the skin below your beard as well, because the balm is great for your facial hair all the way down to the root. Plus, using this balm on stubble or where your facial hair will grow can still promote healthy growth. So, we hope that you enjoy this beard care product and that your facial hair looks better than ever!

Beard Soap Recipe Get Familiar with the Soap Making Process

If this is your first time creating soap with lye, then you may want to read over a few of our classes for beginner soap makers. First, this Soap Making Safety class shares some basics, such as safe soapmaking practices, clean up, and the curing process. Additionally, the Soap Making Terminology class briefly shares soaper lingo and abbreviations that you may come across.

Finally, the classes of Making Your Own Soap Recipe  and Soap Making- Finding the Perfect Recipe explain the steps to creating a perfect bar of soap and creating your very own soap recipe. Further, the Soaping Oil Properties class goes over the impact different oils have on a bar of soap. On another note, you could create this beard soap recipe using a cold process method.  You would use the same ingredients, just a different process.  If you have never made cold process soap before, check out our Cold Process Soap Class 101.

Beard Soap Recipe Soaping From Scratch Safety Reminders

First, you should always wear the appropriate protection when making soap from scratch. Lye that has not fully become soap can react with skin and cause damage. Plus, you will want to avoid breathing in the fumes created as you make your lye water So, you will want to wear a face mask to protect your lungs and keep you aware. Also, it is in your best interest to wear protective clothing, eye protection, and gloves.

You also want to make sure all of your materials needed are prepared prior to starting. Make sure that anything you use to create soap is never used for cooking or in other body products. Meaning, your crockpot should remain as your soaping crockpot. Simply find or buy a cheap device that you won’t miss in the kitchen.

Finally, never ever add the water to your lye. Adding water to the lye could be very dangerous, creating a volcanic effect! Instead, remember that you should slowly add your lye to your water slowly. Stirring the water slowly as well.

Beard Soap Recipe Explaining the Beneficial Properties of the Ingredients Used

If you are curious as to why we’ve used some of these oils in this soap, then check out the following explanation of our reasons for choosing these specific ingredients. First of all, coconut oil is wonderful for facial hair as it will condition hair all the way down to the roots, which softens and will make your beard appear healthier. Plus, you won’t have to deal with an oily residue feeling, since this oil isn’t as greasy as many others. Additionally, this recipe uses Jojoba Oil, which is very similar to oils in the skin, which makes Jojoba Oil a great facial moisturizer! Plus, we included another great oil that can get all the way down to the pores, olive oil pomace. This oil not only helps repair follicles, but leaves a nice shine.

Next, shea butter is wonderful for repairing hair damage, moisturizing, and promoting healthy growth. Also, we included sweet almond oil to help with any ingrown facial hairs and reducing hair loss. Plus, castor oil was added as it contains vitamin E, minerals, antibacterial properties, and anti-fungal properties. Plus, it can help reduce split ends and lead to a thicker beard, due to its conditioning strength. Further, cocoa butter is perfect for healthy facial hair as it strengthens the hair and add volume. Then, we used Lanolin to care for the skin beneath your beard  to protect against dry skin and burns. Additionally, the Gurjan Balsam Essential Oil is very beneficial for eliminating and preventing dandruff from your beard by cleansing the scalp of this dry skin. Finally, we added sesame seed oil to act as a natural sunscreen as well as prevent premature graying of hair and help darken your hair.

Beard Soap Recipe Weighing and Melting Your Soaping OilsBeard Soap Recipe Weighing and Melting Your Soaping Oils

First, you are going to prepare all of the beneficial soaping oils and butters for this hot process soaping recipe. So, you are going to tare the weight of one of your mixing bowls on the scale. Then, weigh out 272 grams of the Shea Butter, 272 grams of the Cocoa Butter Golden Natural, 163 grams of the Sweet Almond Oil, 68 grams of the Olive Oil Pomace, 68 grams of the Sesame Seed Oil, 41 grams of the Lanolin, 340 grams of the Coconut Oil 76, 68 grams of the Castor Oil, and 68 grams of the Jojoba Oil into the same bowl.

Now, you are going to melt all of your weighed soaping oils and butters. So, you will turn your crockpot on to a low setting. Then, place all of your oils and butters into this crockpot. You will heat the oils until they are all in a liquid state. You may want to stir these ingredients as they are melting to be sure the oils do not burn. While you are waiting for the oils and butters to melt, you may want to start creating your lye water mixture.

Beard Soap Recipe Creating Your Lye WaterBeard Soap Recipe Creating Your Lye Water

Next, you will be creating the lye water phase for your hot process soap recipe. You will want to do this in a well ventilated area. If you are not in a vented area, then go to one for this step. Also, make sure that you are wearing the necessary skin, safety gear. Then, separately weigh your 517 grams of the Distilled Water and your 182 grams of the Lye in two small bowls.  After, place your lye water in front of your and grab a rubber spatula. Gently stir the water as you slowly add the previously weighed amount of lye. This will create fumes, so make sure you are wearing your safety mask. Also, remember that you should never add water to the lye.

Beard Soap Recipe Mixing Your Oils and Lye SolutionBeard Soap Recipe Mixing Your Oils and Lye Solution

Now, you are going to begin combining the lye water with your melted oils in the crockpot. When combining the lye solution and oils it leads to a chemical reaction that makes soap. As you create this soap, be careful as you take your lye water and add it to your crockpot with the melted oils.

While we would normally worry about the temperatures of the oil and water phases in cold process soap, we are using hot process soap. This means that the ingredients can be combined at different temperatures as they will be heated together in the crockpot anyways. Now, stick blend the mixture as it is in the crockpot until the batter reaches trace. If you aren’t sure, trace is the point in which the soap batch begins to get a bit thicker and an almost pudding-like consistency. Typically, I will take some of the batch up in a spatula and allow it to fall as I move the spatula back and forth across the top. If there is a slight line left on top of your batter, then you are at trace. If not, keep on mixing until you can see the trace!

Beard Soap Recipe Placing the Lid on the CrockpotBeard Soap Recipe Placing the Lid on the Crockpot

After you reach trace, you can place the lid on your crockpot to allow the batch to cook. However, you won’t simply leave the batch entire unattended. But, you will want to stir your batch periodically to allow the batter to be heated evenly. Otherwise, the bottom of your batch may burn. So, not stirring could lead the soap to not form correctly.

Additionally, the time that it will take for your soap to finish could vary. Typically, it should take about an hour to finish cooking, but this depends on each individual crock pot and the exact temperature that is given on the low setting. So, you will need to determine the end point by the appearance of the soap batch as it is cooking. You will need to wait for the batter to look like mashed potatoes and the consistency will feel as thick as mashed potatoes as well. Now, you’ll be ready for the next step.

Beard Soap Recipe Adding the Essential OilBeard Soap Recipe Adding the Essential Oil

Once your soap batter takes on the appearance of mashed potatoes, it will be time to incorporate the scent. Not only does the Gurjan Balsam Essential Oil add a nice, manly scent, but this ingredient provides some benefits to your beard, which were described above. Now, weigh out 100 grams of the Gurjan Balsam Essential Oil. Then, mix this essential oil into the batter well to ensure that it is fully incorporated.

Beard Soap Recipe Placing Your Soap Batter into the MoldsBeard Soap Recipe Placing Your Soap Batter into the Molds

Next, you are going to take the finished soap batter and fill your silicone soap molds. So, retrieve your clean 4 cavity silicone soap mold and place it on the surface of your work space. Then, fill each of the mold cavities with your hot process soap batter to create four individual loaves of Beard Soap.

Also, you will want to try to eliminate any are pockets that could be created as you transfer the soap. So, lift and tap the filled molds on the table top a few times. This will help release any air bubbles that may be trapped under the surface. Then, just let your soap loaves harden and cool in a place where they won’t be moved.

BBeard Soap Recipe Finishing Up the Hot Process Soapseard Soap Recipe Finishing Up the Hot Process Soaps

Finally, you can remove your hardened soaps from their molds. While cold process soaps need to cure for a about a month, this recipe is made using the hot process soaping method. This method will speed up the curing process with heat to make sure that all of the lye has reacted with the oils and butters. Thus, the lye will not be able to cause damage to the skin. Meaning, this awesome beard soap will be ready for immediate use! After, you can cut your soap loaves into usable sized bars of beard soap. Also, the mitre box and cutter will be helpful in cutting your finished soaps. These tools make it easier to cut your loaves and keep the cuts sharp and even. Also, using these will help to cut the loaf into more evenly sized bars. Now, your hot process beard soaps are ready to use, wash, and protect your beard!

As you can tell from this blog, we only included the best oils for your beard! So, clean and care for your beard at the same time with this amazing beard soap!

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Sanitize the Work Space and the Equipment Needed

Before beginning working on your craft, you may want to do a little bit of preparation to ensure that the process goes smoothly and stays stress-free. So, clean your work space enough to provide an ample amount of surface area to create your foaming bath bombs. Also, you will want to clean everything that you will be using, such as bowls and the silicone heart soap mold. This will prevent unwanted particles or bacteria from getting into your bath products.

Additionally, you should make sure that your witch hazel is already in the bullet bottle and ready to use. This will ensure that you won’t need to pause the process to locate some witch hazel and a spray bottle. Further, you should try to chose a less humid day or area to create your products as too much humidity can actually cause the bath bomb to activate to soon. This will make it difficult to stick together and make prevent its correct use later on. Now, you should be prepared enough to enjoy creating some gorgeous bath bombs!

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Mixing the Powder Ingredients Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Mixing the Powder Ingredients

First, you are going to prepare your powder ingredients in one bowl. So, tare the weight of one of your medium mixing bowls on the gram scale. Weigh out 264 grams of the Citric Acid, 528 grams of the Baking Soda, and 84 grams of the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate into this same mixing bowl. Now, use your gloved hands to mix these powdered ingredients well enough to incorporate everything. Also, be sure to break up any clumps that you find while mixing. It is very important to make this mixture as smooth and well mixed as possible.

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Adding the Rosehips PowderFoaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Adding the Rosehips Powder

Next, you will be dividing your powder mixture into two even portions. So, retrieve another of your medium mixing bowls and transfer about half of your previously weighed powder ingredients. This should leave you with about 438 grams of your mixture in each of the two bowls. While you may simply be able to eye the amount, you should make sure to weigh this amount with your scale to be certain that it is separated evenly. Now, you should have the same amount of powder ingredients in each of your bowls. So, you will be adding the rosehips herb to one of your bowls. So, add 5 grams of the rosehips powder to only one of your portions in the mixing bowls. Set these two bowls of your mixtures aside for now.

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Preparing the Liquid Ingredients Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Preparing the Liquid Ingredients

Then, you are going to prepare the liquid ingredients for this bubbling bath bomb recipe. So, grab two small mixing bowls and tare the weight of one bowl on your scale. The first bowl will have 4 grams of the Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil, 9 grams of the Grapeseed Oil, and 5 drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant. After everything has been added to one bowl, mix these ingredients together well with a spoon. Later, this colorful mixture will be added to the bowl with the rose hips powder.

Next, you will be combining the liquid ingredients that will be added to the second bowl of powdered ingredients. So, you will weigh 4 grams of the Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil and 9 grams of the Grapeseed Oil into the second small bowl. Later, this mixture will be added to the plain, white powder mixture.

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Preparing the Colored LayerFoaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Preparing the Colored Layer

Now, you are going to mix and prepare that pink layer for the mold. So, grab the bowl of dry ingredients that includes the rose hips powder. Add the red colored liquid ingredients to this bowl of dry ingredients. Mix well to incorporate all the scent and color into the dry ingredients. Be sure that use mix well enough to break up dye clumps and evenly disperse the fragrance oil.

Next, you will finish this portion of your bath bomb so you can add it to the mold. So, grab your spray bottle of witch hazel. Now, very lightly spray the pink bath bomb portion with the witch hazel and keep on mixing with your gloved hands as you spray. Continue to spray and mix until you have a crumbling dough consistency, but be careful not to over use the spray or it could activate your bath bomb prematurely. We have noticed that this recipe will use less witch hazel than our typical bath bomb recipe. So, be wary of the amount of witch hazel used. You can always add more, but once you have added too much the bath bomb is ruined before you have a chance to finish creating them. After you reach the crumbling dough consistency, quickly move on to the next step of filling the mold.

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Filling the MoldFoaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Filling the Mold

After you achieve the right amount of witch hazel, you are ready to move on to filling your silicone molds. So, get your six-cavity Silicone Heart Soap Mold and lay it on your work space. Now, pack each of the six cavities about half full with your pink portion of the bath bomb. You will be leaving the other have for the white layer of your foaming bath bomb. Also, make sure that you press down on the mixture as you fill the mold to ensure that it is packed tightly and will hold its shape after it is removed from the soap mold.

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Adding the Second LayerFoaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Adding the Second Layer

Then, you will be preparing the uncolored layer for the bath bomb. So, retrieve your unused bowl of liquid ingredients and the other bowl of powdered ingredients. Now, take the clear liquid ingredients and mix it into your plain white, dry ingredients. Remember to mix well enough to disperse the fragrance oil throughout the entire mixture.

After mixing well, you will spray this portion of the bath bomb with witch hazel until it becomes a crumbly dough consistency. As you know, you will not want to add too much of the witch hazel to your mixture. Once you get the right amount you will be ready to add the white mixture to the mold. Now, spray the previous layer lightly with hazel and tightly pack the white layer on top of the pink layer in each of your six cavities. You will want to pack this layer in well enough to stick to the pink layer and hold its shape after it is removed from the mold. Also, if you don’t pack the mold tight enough you could end up with empty space in the bath bombs.

Immediately, you are going to want to top your bath bombs to make sure the petals and mica adhere. Spray the top of the white layer one last time to ensure that the rose petals stick to the tops. So, take about 2 grams of the rose petals and sprinkle them on top of each of your bath bombs. Now, press your sprinkled rose petals down into the top of your bath bomb slightly. This will make sure that they don’t fall off before you add them to your bath tub. Finally, add a light dusting of the 24 K Gold Mica Pigment and the Diamond Dust Mica Pigment to the top of the foaming bath bomb and rose petals. This will provide a super pretty shimmer!

Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs Recipe Using Your Foaming and Fizzing Bath Creations

If you are unsure on how to use these heart-shaped bubbly bath bombs, then we can run through a quick explanation of how these bath products work. The simple explanation of it use is to add your foaming bath bomb to your bath water. However, there are a couple tricks based on your own preference. First, those that enjoy more of the fizzing effect may want to run their bath and then add their foaming bath bomb afterwards. This will leave you with less bubbles, but you will still enjoy some foaming fun.

Alternatively, you can hold one of your Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bombs under your warm running water. You can slightly crush your product while it is under the water. This is the best for those that are looking for tons of bubbles. Further, you can try a combination of fizzing and foaming. If you let the Foaming Rose Petal Bath Bomb fizz and then break up the product under running water, then you may be able to get the best of both! However, any way you use this recipe you will have an absolutely perfect bath experience!

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Clean and Sanitize Before Working

Before you begin this project make sure to have a clean work space prepared and that you have your sanitized utensils ready to use. This is not only important for you to have an easier time crafting, but prevents your cute Pink Lemonade Scrubs from potentially being contaminated during the process. So, you must be clean and prepared to make the best possible sugar scrub while having the most fun that you can. Thus, we suggest that you do some tidying prep work.

First, remove anything in your work space that could get in your way. For this layered body scrub recipe you will need both a flat surface to work and a stove top. So, be sure you have these areas both cleaned and sanitized. Next, you will want to make sure that all of your equipment is ready to use. Not only should it be sanitized, but it should be within an arms length of your work space. This will make the process easy for you as you will not need to pause to look for any of the necessary components. After everything is ready for you to work, it is time for you to create your sweet sugar scrub!

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Using the Double Boiler Method

Further, you should know how to create a double boiler for this recipe. If you already know what this is, then skip ahead. But, those that don’t know how to create one should pay attention because this device is crucial for avoiding burnt oils. Thus, a double boiler can potentially save you from a disaster with your butters and oils.

So, we will walk through how to create the double boiler with two average pots. First, take the two differently sized pots that you should have ready for this recipe and make sure that one pot can fit inside the other pot easily with some room on either side. The larger pot will contain the water and the smaller pot will be used to melt your ingredients. Also, you want the water to touch the bottom of the small pot, but make sure the water won’t splash into your oils!

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Heating Your Oils, Butters, and WaxPink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Weighing and Heating Your Oils, Butters, and Wax

First, you will weigh out all the ingredients that you will need to heat and melt for this recipe. So, get a scale and tare the weight of a bowl. Weigh out 136 grams of the Coconut Oil 76, 113 grams of the Sunflower Oil, 74 grams of the Mango Butter, 62 grams of the Cocoa Butter Golden Natural, 50 grams of the Traditional Emulsifying Wax, 20 grams of the Olive Oil Pomace, and 12 grams of the Beeswax White Pastilles. Then, transfer these ingredients to the small pot of your double boiler. Occasionally stir as these weighed ingredients are melting.

While you wait for your ingredients to melt, you can prepare your other powders. You will need your titanium dioxide, lemon peel powder and arrowroot powder. Also, get three medium bowls.

First, take one of your clean bowls and weigh out a single gram of the Lemon Peel Powder into the bowl. Then, add 7 grams of the vegetable glycerin to this same bowl. Now, mix these two ingredients together well enough to create a paste. This lemon powder paste will be used later in the yellow colored layer of this scrub. Second, take another of your clean bowls and weigh 2 grams of your Titanium Dioxide Oil Dispersible. This will be used for the white layer of this scrub. Finally, add 15 grams of arrowroot powder to the third bowl.  Set all of these bowls aside for now.

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Adding Ingredients to Melted MixturePink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Adding Ingredients to Melted Mixture

After your oils, waxes, and butter ingredients are melted, you will be adding a few more liquid ingredients. So, transfer your melted oils, butters, and wax to the same bowl used to weigh them earlier and tare the bowl’s weight on the scale. Then, wait until the temperature drops to about 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, you can weigh 18 grams of the Raspberry Lemonade Fragrance Oil, 5 grams of the Optiphen Preservative, the 15 grams of the Arrowroot Powder, and 5 grams of the Vitamin E Oil. Finally, mix all these ingredients well enough to incorporate everything.

Now, we are going to weigh the white granulated sugar for this scrub. So, take your scale and weigh out 680 grams of the white granulated sugar.  Then, add the sugar to the oil mixture that you have created. As you are adding the sugar, make sure that you stir well enough to incorporate everything. You want to make sure that the sugar is evenly dispersed throughout the oil mixture.

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Separating the Scrub for the Three LayersPink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Separating the Scrub for the Three Layers

Next, you are going to separate your big batch into three bowls. These will each be colored differently to create the three layers. Make sure you use the two bowls that we used for the lemon peel paste and the titanium dioxide as well as another clean bowl. Now, divide the large mixture of sugar and oils into your three bowls evenly. Each of these three bowls should get about 400 grams of the sugar scrub mixture.

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Coloring the Three Scrub Layers Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Creating the Different Sugar Scrub Layers

Now, you are going to color the contents of your three bowls. Each of these bowls will be a different color, which will be a white, a pink, and a yellow.

First, you will create the yellow colored scrub layer. For this step you will need the bowl that contains the lemon peel powder paste and a portion of the scrub mixture. Then, add 15 drops of the FUN Soap Colorant Neon Yellow to this same bowl and mix well to incorporate all of your colorant. Second, you will need the white colored sugar scrub. You should have already created this color using the 2 grams of titanium dioxide that you have previously weighed. Just make sure to mix well enough to create a white hue and set these two bowls aside.

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Coloring the Pink Scrub LayerPink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Coloring the Pink Scrub Layer

Next, you will be creating the bottom layer of your sugar scrub. This third bowl will be colored pink. So, add 2 drops of your FUN Soap Colorant Tomato Red, 2 drops of the FUN Soap Colorant Ultramarine Violet , and 5 drops of the FUN Soap Colorant Neon Pink to the last uncolored bowl. This will create the most perfect pink hue for the Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe! Mix the colorant into the scrub. Now, you have the pink, yellow, and white colors prepared for the layers of your scrub!

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Layering the Sugar ScrubPink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Layering the Sugar Scrub

Now, you will be adding the completed sugar scrub mixtures to your clear PET jars. First, you must wait for each bowl to reach room temperature. After, your scrub is ready to package up and you can begin creating your three layers.

First, you are going to be adding your pink sugar scrub mixture to the jars first. So, take the pink colored sugar scrub mixture and begin scooping it into one of your jars, You will want to make sure to leave room for the other two layers, so only fill each of your seven jars 1/3 of the way full. Then, repeat this step with your other jars until you are out of pink sugar scrub.

Pink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Finishing Up the Sugar ScrubPink Lemonade Scrub Recipe Adding More of the Sugar Scrub Layers

Then, you are going to create the next layers with your remaining two colored scrubs. Now, you will use the white portion of your pink lemonade scrub for your second layer. Yo will want to fill the jar about one third more. Again, make sure to leave room for the remaining layer. Repeat this for the remainder of your PET jars. This should leave you with two layers in each jar.

Finally, you will be adding the last layer to your jars. So,take your yellow portion of this scrub and fill the rest of your jars to the inner rim. But, don’t add too much yellow to a single jar as this layer should be about as thick as any other layer you have added. Now, your jars are completely and your scrub is finally ready!  Simply, place a lid on each jar, and if you’d like, you can use them right away.

This will prevent possible contamination from using dirty utensils or setting those utensils on a dirty counter top. Also, having your work space tidy will help you create this recipe.  Not only will all your equipment be close and ready to use, but there won’t be anything impeding your ability to work. Now, lets get started!

Foaming Hibiscus Sugar Scrub Making the Double Boiler

Also, you will want to know how to create the double boiler before we begin. If you already know how to create this melting device, then feel free to begin the recipe. However, those that aren’t sure how to put this together can read through this short step-by-step instruction on how to create a double boiler. We stress this importance because the double boiler is crucial to preventing your butters and oils from scorching.

First, get your small pot and your medium pot. The larger pot will contain the boiling water and the smaller pot will contain the ingredients that you intend to have melting. So, add about an inch of water to the medium pot to start. Then, place your smaller pot inside the medium pot. You will need to adjust the water level so that it is at least touching the bottom of the small pot, but not high enough to boil over into your melting ingredients. Finally, you can turn on the stove top and add your ingredients to the small pot.

First, you will need to melt the necessary ingredients for your scrub. Retrieve the scale and tare the weight of a bowl. Now, weigh out 136 grams of coconut oil 76, 113 grams of sweet almond oil, 62 grams of cocoa butter, 74 grams of shea butter, 50 grams of silky emulsifying wax, 20 grams of olive oil, and 12 grams of beeswax. After, you will be ready to melt your weighed ingredients. So, pour these ingredients into the small pot of your double boiler and set the stove to medium heat. Stir as the butters and wax melts and continue until everything has completely melted.

While you wait for your ingredients to melt, you can begin creating the Hibiscus Flower Powder paste. So, weigh out 8 grams of Hibiscus Flower Powder and 20 grams of Vegetable Glycerin into a second bowl. You will need to mix these ingredients together very well until everything has been combined to create a paste consistency. Then, set this bowl aside for later use.

Now, we will be adding a few more ingredients to the larger mixture, which is made of butters, oils, and wax. So, wait for the butters and wax to finish melting. After all the ingredients are melted, transfer these ingredients to a bowl. Now, allow your mixture to cool to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature is important as it prevents the preservative or other ingredients from burning off. Then, it is time for you to add 5 grams of optiphen preservative,5 grams of vitamin E oil, 121 grams of sodium cocoyl isethionate, and 20 grams of Hawaiian Sea Mist Fragrance Oil to your melted mixture. Be sure to mix thoroughly and incorporate all the added ingredients.

Next, you will add the sugar to the larger mixture of melted ingredients. So, weight out 680 grams of the white granulated sugar in a separate bowl. Then, slowly add the sugar to your mixture while you are whisking. This well incorporate all of the oils into the added sugar to create a well combined sugar scrub mixture.

Foaming Hibiscus Sugar Scrub Adding the Hibiscus Flower Powder Mixture Foaming Hibiscus Sugar Scrub Adding the Hibiscus Flower Powder Mixture

Then, you can add the Hibiscus Flower Powder paste to the larger mixture. So, retrieve the paste that you have set aside in a previous step. Now, add the Hibiscus flower powder paste to your larger mixture. Again, make sure that you mix thoroughly to disperse the Hibiscus Flower Powder completely. However, incorporating this ingredient may be a bit more difficult as it is a thicker paste. While it may take more work, just keep mixing until the paste is dispersed evenly through the entire bowl.

Foaming Hibiscus Sugar Scrub Adding the Hibiscus Scrub to the JarsFoaming Hibiscus Sugar Scrub Adding the Hibiscus Scrub to the Jars

Finally, you are ready for the finishing touches for your foaming sugar scrub! First, allow your mixture to fully cool to room temperature. After, your will be able to pour your scrub into your nine 4 oz jars. We recommend using a spoon or spatula to scoop the mixture into your jars, but you can transfer the scrub anyway your want to do this.

Once all the sugar scrub mixture is put into the jars you can add the whole hibiscus flowers to the tops. Simply sprinkle a tiny bit on the top of each jar. Then, you can place the lids on the jars to either store or use the scrub. If you wish to use your foaming scrub, just scrub your hands under some warm, running water. However, those that aren’t sure how to put this together can read through a brief yet detailed instruction on how to create a double boiler with two household pots. Further, the double boiler is crucial to preventing your butters and oils from scorching, which makes it important to know how to make this device.

Initially, you will find your small pot and your medium pot. The larger pot will contain the boiling water and the smaller pot will contain the ingredients that you intend to melt. First, add about an inch of water to the medium pot to start. Then, place your smaller pot inside the medium pot. Also, you will be adding a few of the remaining ingredients to your mixture. So, weigh 5 grams of Optiphen Preservative, 5 grams of Vitamin E Oil, 121 grams of Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, and 20 grams of Margarita Fragrance Oil. Now, stir this mixture to incorporate everything that has been added.

In each of these two bowls, you will weigh out 256 grams of the citric acid, 83 grams of the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, 560 grams of the baking soda, and 3 grams of the papaya leaf powder. Now, thoroughly mix the ingredients, break up any clumps, and set both of these bowls aside for later use as we move on to our wet ingredients.

Next, you will be weighing the wet ingredients for both the yellow and orange colored halves. So, take your other two bowls that should be clean and ready to use. Also, place them on your scale and tare your scale with the weight of the bowl. Now, add 8 grams of the Papaya Guava Mango Fragrance Oil and 9 grams of the Meadowfoam Seed Oil to each to your two bowls. Then, you can slowly add one of the bowls of wet ingredients to one of your bowls of dry ingredients. Repeat this with the other two bowls of wet ingredients and dry ingredients.

Now, you are ready to add pigments to create both the yellow and orange colors for your mixtures. So, take one of your two bowls to color first. This bowl will be colored with Neon Yellow and Eye Poke Orange to create a bright yellow hue for half of your bath bomb. In order to create this, you will add 9 grams neon yellow FUN Soap Colorant and 2 grams Eye Poke Orange FUN Soap Colorant to this bowl. Use your hands to mix the colorant thoroughly.  Next, you will take the other bowl and use Jailhouse Red and Neon Red to create a fun orange color for the other half of your bath bomb. So, you will be adding 10 grams Jailhouse Red FUN Soap Colorant and 3 grams Neon Red FUN Soap Colorant to your second mixture bowl.  Again, with clean gloves, mix the colorant evenly so the color is fully incorporated into your ingredients.

Next, it is time for you to add the orange mixture portion of the bath bomb to half of the ornament. First, you will need to spray the mixture with witch hazel. However, you will need to spray slowly as you mix. Since over spraying will activate the ingredients prematurely causing your bath bomb to fall apart, you will want to get this part right. You will know that you have added the right amount when mixture feels like crumbly dough in your hands. After, you can scoop the mixture into the mold half and pack it full.

Now, you can fill the other half of your bath bomb mold. So, take your yellow mixture and spray in the appropriate amount of witch hazel. Just like last time, make sure that you don’t add more than you need as the ingredients will activate in the bowl and your bath bomb mixture will not stick together correctly. After you spray the right amount, you can pack the mixture into the second half of the bath bomb mold.

Finally, you will attach the two mold halves and create the finished bath bomb. So, lightly spritz both the yellow half and the orange half with a little bit more witch hazel and attach the ornament halves together. Now, fill the rest of your ornaments until you have used up all of the yellow and orange mixtures to create your six bath bombs. Then, you will need to wait for the bath bombs to set up and harden. Only after this has happened can you remove the mango scented bath bombs from the ornament molds.
