Total Recipe Weights:

775 grams Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap
26 grams Blackened Amethyst Fragrance Oil
1 gram Activated Charcoal
1/8 tsp Diamond Dust Mica Pigment
14 grams Vegetable Glycerin

Step 1:  Before starting clean and sanitize your work area along with all utensils and materials your will be using.  Also, it is suggested that you wear an apron, gloves, and a hair net when preparing this recipe.  In addition, fill one black bullet bottle with rubbing alcohol and place a sprayer on top.  Rubbing alcohol is used to remove air bubbles from the soap, and helps the layers of the soap to adhere to each other.

Step 2:  First, we will prepare our colorant.  In a small bowl, add about 1 grams of activated charcoal.  Then, about 1/8 tsp of diamond dust mica pigment.  Next, add about 14 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Mix well until all three ingredients are fully combined.  Set this aside, we will come back to it once our clear soap base is melted.

Step 3:  Next, we will start by preparing the shimmering activated charcoal soap layer.  First, weigh out 517 grams of your Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Melt this in the microwave in 30 second bursts, until it is in a liquid state.

Step 4:  Then, add 26 grams of your Blackened Amethyst Fragrance Oil along with the colorant you prepared.  Stir to incorporate the fragrance oil and colorant completely.

Step 5:  Pour the soap into the small rectangle tray mold.  Spray the poured soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles. Allow the soap to completely setup before moving to the next step.

Step 6:  Once your soap has setup, add a layer of poppy seeds.  You will need about 7 grams of poppy seeds.  Spread it evenly over the setup soap.

Step 7:  Next, weigh out and melt 258 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Again, heat in 30 second increments only until it is melted.  Be careful not to over-heat your base.  We chose to leave this layer unscented.  We did not want to risk the fragrance oil clouding the visual effect of the floating poppy seeds.

Step 8:  Finally, spray the soap in the mold with rubbing alcohol, then pour the melted, unscented soap slowly right on top of the poppy seeds.  Some of the poppy seed will stay on the bottom, and some will disperse throughout the clear soap.  However, one you have poured the soap, be sure to once again, spray it with rubbing alcohol to release the air bubble.

Step 9:  Once the soap has setup, remove it from the mold.  Then, use the cutter to cut the soap along the lines created by the mold.

We hope that you enjoy our activated charcoal melt and pour recipe!
